The calendar suggests it is Spring, but temps are still pretty chilly here in southeastern Michigan. And you know that whole "April showers" thing? It has been raining for days, complete with blinding lightening and rafter-shaking thunder!
Despite the questionable conditions outside, I'm embracing the sense of the season by trying something new.
My work in progress has three incredibly yummy heroes for my heroine's pleasure!! The men are from a distant planet and were beginning to lose hope they'd ever find their destined mate. Imagine their surpise when they discover she is an Earthling who has no experience with their type of loving. Imagine her joy when she learns where her life is heading!
I'm having great fun figuring out my first f/m/m/m story!
Have a wonderful weekend~

Dena Garson's Doubly Naughty Nooners!
What's
Wednesday's treat? Double Dena Garson that's what! Dena's offering two sweet
treats today. You can read one at lunch and blush at your desk, or save them
for a bedtime snack and sizzle between the sheets. Either way you won't want to
miss these two miniature erotic gems.
Here’s
Dena Garson:
Thanks for inviting me back
to the Seven Sexy Scribes!
Short stories hold a special
place in my heart because the first writing I ever sold was a short. They’re
fun to write and lets me tell my readers about new characters or a moment in
time. Truth be told, I’m easily distracted and shorts give me an outlet.
But I love to read short
stories too. Over lunch, I can wolf one down along with my soup and sandwich.
Anthologies and compilations of shorts have introduced me to more than one new
author. Some of which went on to become favorites.
When Ellora’s Cave said they
were interested in two of my short stories, I was thrilled. Now that they’ve
been released, I’m over the moon.
If you’re ready for a bit of
naughtiness, I have just the thing for you. But be warned, both of these shorts
are written in first person. So you, the reader, get to step even further into
someone else’s shoes. Come on – Angie and Cherie have a story to tell you!
Working It All Out
When Angie needs a trainer
to prepare for a corporate fundraiser, Noel comes highly recommended. No one
told her he’s sexy as hell too. Unfortunately, he’s way too young. He couldn’t
possibly share the same clothes-ripping, fucking-on-the-gym-floor fantasies
that inundate her every time she looks his way. Or so she thinks.
Noel has other ideas. When
they get the gym to themselves for an intense one-on-one, he gives her the
workout she’s been waiting for.
Cherie's Silk
Cherie’s favorite work
adversary, Mason, stumbles across her in the midst of a humiliating “wardrobe
malfunction”. She has to choose between possible public embarrassment and
exposing her secret undergarment obsession to Mason. An obsession that could
taint Cherie’s prim and proper office persona.
Thankfully Mason is willing
to lend a hand in more ways than one. He’s lusted after Cherie as much as she’s
wanted him, and getting his hands on her frilly silk leads to a hot, sexy
hallway encounter.
Thanks for letting me drop
by!

Welcome Becky Black
Ebooks are the wave of the
future. Even those publishers who don't want to believe it's true know it. I do
most of my reading on my Kindle or tablet now. When people are reading ebooks
they are reacting to them as people have always done to books. They react to
the text. The text is the book, not the container the text is in.
And yet there is still
something magical about having a print release...
Everyone old enough to be
reading my books now grew up with books as things made of paper and card. Some
with pictures in them as well as the text. Sometimes stunning colour plates.
Books weighed down your schoolbag. Their pages got wrinkly from reading in the
bath. Old books got worn out, pages yellow and foxed, starting to fall apart.
But we held them in as much affection and considered them as precious as family
photographs. A book signed by the author is especially exciting for some people
and you can't really do that with an ebook.
Paper books have such
strong emotional resonance for some people that it's hard to let them go
entirely in favour of ebooks. It's like the switch from vinyl to CD. Some
people resisted that for a long time. And though the ebook is on the rise, but
it will be a long time before it replaces the kind of book that counts as a
work of art in itself. Or cookbooks, with their glossy photos of fantasy food. Or
children's books that babies appreciate for their chewiness as well as their
content.
So as great as ebooks are,
and as much as I'm delighted to be published by a "digital first"
publisher, I can't deny that parcel of author copies gives me a thrill like no
other.
I have three books in
print now.
Higher Ground Blurb
Zach is impatient and likes to hurry. Adam likes to take it
slow and to tease. But, they’d have worked it all out – if only the end of the
world hadn’t gotten in the way.
Zach Benesh is sure his
prediction is right – the island colony of Zahara is about to sink into the
ocean. Adam Gray isn’t as certain, but he’s happy to follow the intense,
brilliant geophysicist into the mountains to escape the flooding. Though he’d
be even happier without three hundred other people – and their pets – tagging
along. He’d like to have Zach all to himself out there.
But Zach’s prediction is
right and as disaster begins to unfold towards an unstoppable, inevitable
conclusion, the two young scientists must become a team in the fight to save
their people. They draw strength from their rapidly developing relationship,
but the higher Zach and Adam climb, the more difficult the tests they face – as
lovers and as men.

Are you Prepared for Rebecca Royce's Love In One Night?
Rebecca Royce is a very talented and prolific
author of fantasy, paranormal and contemporary romance. Her books are popular
and well reviewed. She’s also a very sweet person who is fast becoming a
favorite friend. When she’s not engrossed in writing she’s a mother to three
little boys and volunteers at an animal rescue. This lady is a force of nature!
I have to admit I love watching the doomsday
prepper shows on TV. I have no real fears about a doomsday scenario catching up
with me but I respect that these people care enough about their families to be
prepared for the worst. There’s always lots of personal drama and I’m often
moved but how vulnerable these people appear to be in other areas of lives. The
shows are a glimpse into the human condition, our fears and the overwhelming
desire to survive and be of help to others. For every prepper who wants to hold
the world at bay there are three others who want to rescue and protect as many
people as they can. That’s the part I love.
Guess what? All that high stakes drama has been
rolled into contemporary romance! Rebecca Royce’s “Love In One Night” is
available today. Do you think you might have what it takes to look disaster in
the eye and take a huge risk on love at the same time?
Let’s prepare to find out!
Blurb: Love In One Night.
Melanie is a woman who prepares for
disasters. If the world as she knows it were to come grinding to a
disastrous halt, her Sustainable Living Community will be ready and able to
take care of the people in their area. She doesn't have a man in her life
anymore but she has her daughter and that's enough.
Until a tall, dark stranger drives into her
life.
Griffith is on a mission to find Melanie's
ex-husband Victor, who has stolen a very expensive new drug from a pharmaceutical
company. Griffith is a man who can find what others can't. He never
backs down from a fight and he's never afraid until he sees Melanie. She
steals his breath and makes him wish for things he's never wanted before.
They are two people who can prepare for
everything except the depths of their own need for each other.
Prepared for more? Here’s an excerpt:
“I married him because I got pregnant.” She put
her hands on her hips. “And I won’t take his money because I won’t take money
from the pharmaceutical companies. No offense.”
“Gee, why would I take offense when you meant to
insult me?” Melanie’s face turned a lovely shade of cherry as he spoke.
“Truth is, I meant to say something nasty about
Victor. I forgot, momentarily, what you do and who you do it for.”
He shrugged like he words hadn’t stung a bit. The
pharmaceutical companies did both good and bad things. Griffith didn’t have to
feel one-hundred-percent comfortable all the time to still know he worked on
the right side of the law.Love
in One Night 7
“Theft is theft. I give them back things they’ve
lost.” He moved along the edge of the room. Melanie must be organized.
Everything had a label, down to the box holding sponges. “And I’d bet when you
get a headache, you take a Tylenol.”
“I’d try magnesium and zinc, but your point is
taken. I shouldn’t be generalizing. I don’t like when it’s done to me.”
Griffith had to get out of there before he did
anything really asinine, like give the blushing woman a hug. He pulled out his
card. “If you hear from Victor or you think of anything, give me a call. I’ll
be staying in Austin overnight.”
“Right.” She took his card. “I’m sorry you had to
come all the way down here for nothing.”
“I’m not.” Her eyes widened, and he had a moment
of sheer male satisfaction. He’d been able to shock her.
“You haven’t asked me why I do this. Why I’m so
prepared for a disaster? You haven’t asked. Everyone does.”
“I’ve been a lot of places. I think preparing for
things, even if they might never occur, makes pretty good sense. I guess we all
have our own reasons for why we do what we do.”
She bit down on her lower lip, chewing on it as
she regarded him with narrowed eyes. “So you want to know why I married Victor
but not why I formed a whole community dedicated to organic farming in the
desert, self-sustaining living, and disaster preparedness?”
“Melanie, if you want to tell me, I’d be really
amenable to hearing.” Anything she wanted to say would be fine by him. She
could read the phone book aloud, and he’d sit like a good little boy and listen
to her.
“Maybe I could. Over dinner tonight.”
His heart skipped a beat. Had she actually asked
him out? His mouth opened and closed. When he’d gotten off the plane in Austin,
he’d had no idea he’d be stepping onto a sustainable farm, a converted bomb
shelter, and asked to dinner by a hot redhead.
Bio:
As a
teenager, Rebecca Royce would hide in her room to read her favorite
romance novels when she was supposed to be doing her homework. She hopes, these
days, that her parents think it was well worth it.
Rebecca
is the mother of three adorable boys and is fortunate to be married to her best
friend. They’ve just moved to Texas where Rebecca is discovering a new love for
barbecue!
She's
in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and tries to use all
of these elements in her writing. She's been told she's a little bloodthirsty
so she hopes that when you read her work you'll enjoy the action packed ride
that always ends in romance. Rebecca loves to write series because she loves to
see characters develop over time and it always makes her happy to see her
favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.
In
Rebecca Royce's world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should
suspect that it will.

Mystery Writer Marian Louette
Beautiful blonde mystery writer Marian Louette can Burn In Hell! Actually we can all Burn In Hell because the new Jake Carrington mystery Burn In Hell is available now on Amazon. If you love mysteries and commitment-shy, hunky good guy cops you should head straight toward a Jake Carrington mystery.
We usually promote romance at Seven Sexy Scribes so this is
a real treat to get something different.
Here are a few questions for Marian. What is your next
project and when will it be released?
My next project is just being completed, so I expect it will
be released next year sometime. It's not under contract yet.
Was your road to publication fraught with peril or a walk in
the park?
Three years ago, I started taking my writing seriously and
wrote three novels and one novella. To date, I've had two of the three novels
picked up by a publisher and I self-published the novella.
Give us an elevator pitch for your book
Mate for Life is the third book in the Jake Carrington
Series.
A man after being jilted at the alter starts killing
upcoming brides on his one year anniversary of his doomed wedding.
Do you have a view in your writing space? What does your space look like?
I do. I look out into the woods. I'll spend sometimes
watching the hawks hunt or try to escape the crows. I also love watching the
cardinals go about their business.
Tell us about your hero.
Give us one of his strengths and one of his weaknesses.
Jake is a good cop who loves his job. His weakness is fear
of commitment to anything other than his job.
Tell us about your heroine.
Give us one of her strengths and one of her weaknesses.
Mia is a very smart, very rich woman who wants what she
wants. Commitment is not in her vocabulary. She's stubborn as is Jake so they
butt heads a lot.
What genres are you drawn to as a reader?
I read everything from mysteries to romance to paranormal to
sci-fi. I also like autobiographies.
Tell us a little about yourself and your latest book.
I'm one of ten children. I love getting together with family
and I'm an avid reader. In 2013, I released one book and a novella. Burn in
Hell, is the second book in the Jake Carrington Series and As the World Ends
asks the question. Are you ready to defend yourself and family if the end of
the world really happened.
Jake Carrington Mystery is the first book in the series. Her
second book in the series, Burn in Hell is now available. This month she
released a novella called As the World Ends.
An avid reader, she discovered mysteries by reading the Daily News
as a youngster. Intrigued by the real life crimes, and how the police worked
and eventually solved them, ignited her imagination beyond the ordinary.
Marian has many
plans (books) for Jake Carrington and his crew. The third book in the series
Mated for Life will be out sometime next year
Thank you so
much Marian for being our guest at 7SS! I wish you big sales and many happy
readers.

Continuation from last week’s post
The conversation continues on the loop about self-publishing vs.
publishing with a house.
I enjoy both for various reasons. One writer only has one book
out and it sells very well on the third party sites. She wants to claim her
rights back and self-publish.
She’s gotten a lot of good advice from talented authors. The consensus
was to leave it for now. Build a following. If possible do both for a brief
period of time. I agree with this for a brand new author.
I’ve left my books where they are for many different reasons. But
recently the opportunity to get the rights back to one of my books presented
itself. I took it.
Why?
Because the book does not sell well on ANY site. If I sold 10
copies on all the sites, in over a year that’s a lot. My theory? First the
cover. I never did like the cover, but I don’t get a say. The other is it’s an
M/F. this publisher big sellers are M/M/F and M/M. Just my opinion.
So I’m taking my rights back to the book and I’ll self-publish
it. Someday I might take the others too. As of right now I’m starting one at a
time.
