Talk Dirty to Topaz

For some reason my books over at Aspen Mountain Press don't get enough exposure. These are some of my favorites. Today I'm going to give you a little taste of Talk Dirty to Topaz.

Interior Designer Teagan Topaz doesn’t believe in love, after finding her fiancé in bed doing the nasty with another woman. Nine long months later Teagan finds herself sexually frustrated, due to a recent surge of explicit sex phone calls on her business line. Frank Black needs Teagan’s expertise to put the finishing touches on a room in his house, but he fantasizes about tying her up and ravishing her. Will Teagan be able to resist the designs Frank has for her?
Holy shit!
Teagan couldn’t remember ever experiencing such intensity before. Stars flashed before her eyes as Frank drove her over the edge, tumbling to ecstasy.
Both feet back on the floor, Teagan rested her head on his shoulder, allowing herself time to catch her breath and time to wonder what the fuck she was thinking.
Yes, it was a mind-blowing experience, but she wasn’t the type to let her inhibitions go and succumb to a man she just met. But she had to admit, Frank Black wasn’t just any man. There was something about him, something that made Teagan want to stay and learn more about him. She wanted to figure out what this attraction was she felt. There was attraction; a deep one that scared the shit out of her.
She hadn’t felt this way since Tim and her instincts were dead wrong about him. She didn’t want to make the same mistakes trusting another man. Maybe it was the phone calls. They had her sexually frustrated and needing release. Maybe she was confusing the need for sex with attraction. But damn, Frank did know how to please her.
Teagan felt empty as Frank stepped back, but her emptiness didn’t last long. He wrapped her in his arms, planting gentle kisses on her face.
“You’re an amazingly beautiful woman, Teagan Topaz.”
She blushed, unused to so many compliments.
“I could make love to you all night long.”
Teagan’s stomach grumbled before she had a chance to respond.
“But first, I must feed you.”
She laughed nervously.
“You’ll need energy for what I have in store for you.”
“What about Susan?” Teagan asked. As exciting as the prospect sounded, his sister lived in his house and would be returning home eventually.
“We’ll worry about that after dinner.”
Frank helped Teagan put her clothes back in order, and then kissed the tip of her nose. “I’d rather have dessert first…”

Better Late Than Never, I Say...

I have been busy all day and just barely got back to the house and my computer...

So I thought I would get to it and post my Saturday posts, better late than never.  I'm sure you've seen this book cover before but not very many of you have read the book.  My full length novels seem to be too long (over 250 pages) for folks to want to buy...along with the $6-7 price tags, but those who have found their way past the length and the price, have given me fabulous feedback.

A Brief Moment of Pleasure is not the usual erotic romance. gal...great sex scenes, great relationship building...yada yada yada...but most readers can't seem to get past the way my heroine wears her black belt.  Hmmm.  I thought the cover artist had a unique take on that, but several readers have asked if she practices some odd form of karate that requires the female black belt to wear her belt that way.  Sigh.  Oh, well...

So, to find out how many of you have read any of my books and are willing to admit it (tsk tsk tsk) I am offering this book as a prize to any reader who comments on this post and tells me what books he/she has read of mine.  No fibbing...I will test you on the contents of the book.  :)

So if you want to read why this woman wears her belt all screw-ha (don't ask, because this was simply the artist's interpretation of what a sexy karateka wears to the dojo) and want to read this longer novel, leave your comments.  Every commenter will get a copy.  Then you tell me if you think the longer books are too hard to read.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Holiday.  I am still in a Turkey Coma. :P

Come Back To Me - release day!

If you're in the mood for a deep, dark, suspenseful love story with a dysfunctional heroine who has to fight and claw her way to the light, this is a beautiful read. Not an easy read and it wasn't an easy write, but I think Come Back To Me is the best love story I've written - it's not erotic, it's a love story.

Buy link:

Sometimes the safest path is to keep people at a distance…especially men.

Cara’s life has been one nightmare after another. Abused as a child and neglected by her parents, she’s quick to blame herself for every cruel thing that happens to her. And then there’s James, the only man capable of making her forget her misgivings and learn to love again.

James, a young doctor in training, is aware of Cara’s history. He’s determined to break through her barriers and build a life with her…and fails. Cara runs away in an attempt to reinvent herself and James fears he’s lost her for good. When she falls into the hands of a drug dealer and mob boss, life as they know it is about to get a whole lot worse.

Can their love withstand the demons of her past and present?

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine consisted of stressful cooking and staving off WWIII. Same as always!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day full of good food, family and friends!

And for those going out shopping on "Black Friday" -

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

I love Thanksgiving for a lot of good reasons. I love the food, I love the company and I’m so thankful year after year my family still wants to get together and see each other.

In our family we have a cluster of birthdays that fall the same week, so when we get together it’s an extra big party with a communal birthday cake sitting beside the pumpkin pie.

Thanksgiving is also the time of year it really hits me that the year is virtually over, and another year of my life has passed.

Sometimes I think, who turned up the dial on the time machine? I think it’s set too fast. Someone please turn it down!

This year was busy, challenging and flashed by so fast, I’m thankful I didn’t lose my mind.

Here are a few other things I am thankful for.

I am thankful our family expanded this year by one brother-in-law and two beautiful baby nieces.

I am thankful to everyone who has taken the time to read one of my books—very thankful.

I am thankful I am older, I’m actually enjoying it.

I am thankful I have enough of every basic need and enough to share.

I am thankful I survived this year intact and even made a little progress.

I am thankful for all the love, help and friendship that comes my way.

I am thankful my family is not a Norman Rockwell portrait. We're an oddly mixed assortment of imperfect people and I like it that way.

I am thankful to all the American service men and women who selflessly leave their loved ones, to go overseas and work as medics, truck drivers, civil engineers and so many other unglamorous, but necessary jobs with the intention of making peace in the middle of conflict. Thank you, we won’t forget you.

I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving week is upon us and I’ve been reflecting on the past ten months. A lot has happened in my life. Some things were life altering and tragic. Some were wonderful and uplifting.
A few people have been brought into my life and I know they were put there for a reason. One person understands what I’ve been going thru and the other person is a cheerleader for my career and overall great friend. I’m thankful for both of them. :) That’s not to say I’m not thankful for the rest of my online friends, because honestly you’ve all helped me when I felt I couldn’t go on.
I’m thankful for my family. Most importantly my DH. I thought for sure our marriage was doomed this year, but through tragedy we grew stronger. I’m so glad he stuck by me when I pushed him away.
Another thing I’m thankful for is my health.
Rumors are swirling that my job along with hundreds of other colleagues is on the line. There’s a good chance I may find myself in the unemployment line before Christmas. What a shitty way to end the year, but right now I’m thankful for the job.
In the midst of all the rumors I’m moving forward and taking charge of what I can control.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the people in the US and for those who aren’t celebrating, I wish you happiness.
Until next week!

New Contract Offer

I don't know where all my canoe photos went on this computer, but here's some water!

I just received an offer from Siren for my new contemporary romantic comedy, Pushing Her Boundaries. The story is based upon my own recent disastrous and very insanely hilarious trip to the BWCA - the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota.

So...coming 4/11/11, Pushing Her Boundaries.
Believe me, this book was a hoot to write!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'll talk to you all the day after!

Royal Engagement

Engagementa promise to marry, also the period of time between proposal and marriage.

Whether you’ve dated someone forever or been swept up in a whirlwind lust-affair, the act of asking another person to spend the rest of their life with you is taking a monumental leap of romantic faith!

My, seeing things through rose colored glasses, happily-ever-after self was thrilled when Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement this week. I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed that they will share a long and happy life together. Marital bliss is an ongoing challenge for us regular people; I can’t imagine dealing with things under the microscope of the worldwide press.

I think it’s beyond wonderful that William gave Kate his mother’s ring and said, "It's my way of making sure my mother didn't miss out on today and the excitement and the fact we are going to spend the rest of our lives together."

I hope the media and we, the public, will allow them some space and privacy to experience their own HEA.
Have a great weekend!

Wednesday November 17th

I’m a fan of Amber Skyze for several reasons, her stories are always fun to read and she’s such a nice person.

Another reason is I always learn about a new naughty trick or toy that leaves me with something steamy to think about.

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of relaxing with some great music, a chocolate latte and Amber’s latest book “Gett’n Lucky”.

I read Gett’n Lucky in a single sitting because I got pulled in deep from the first pages and couldn’t stop reading. A lost morning was worth it. I absolutely enjoyed being drawn in by this book.

“Gett’n Lucky” is part of Ellora’s Cave “Cougar Challenge” series. There are a lot of wonderful books in this series by many talented authors including two sister-scribes from the Seven Sexy Scribes sorority Fran Lee (“Nothing but Sex”) and Cerise Deland (“Hat Trick”).

I want to be one of the first to say “Gett’n Lucky” is a great addition to the Cougar Challenge mix.

This contemporary story covers all the bases. The heroine gets a full-throttle adventure and the ultimate fantasy fulfillment, risks are taken, the romance is sweet, the sex is hot and there’s a surprise here I don’t believe I’ve ever read in women’s erotic fiction—and I will say I was surprised.

I’ll tell you a little about Lucky in a moment.

I loved the heroine, Marcy Brown. Marcy is a forty-one year-old business owner of a neighborhood grocery store, but she’s also a wounded heart on the mend following a crushing divorce from her ex who left her for a much younger woman and nearly bankrupted the store as well.

Marcy is not too keen to get involved again or go on dates but her body and heart can’t ignore Lucky, the handsome young masseuse who helps her work the kinks out every Friday at her weekly massage therapy appointment. Lucky cares about Marcy and thoughtfully remembers the details of their weekly conversations. Naturally, Marcy feels a deep attraction to Lucky and begins to fantasize about him.

I found Marcy easy to like and relate to. This book gets off to a quick and slightly embarrassing start. Poor Marcy’s woozy mother babbles about her attraction to a young doctor in the recovery room following hand surgery. Nurse “Elizabeth” overhears the conversation and discreetly hands Marcy a business card with the Cougar Challenge blog information printed on it.

Marcy later visits the blog and is both curious and mortified to admit she too like her horrible ex, finds the idea of a younger partner very attractive.

She contacts the Cougars by email and accepts the challenge to take a younger lover. She vows to approach her fantasy man Lucky, and enjoy a no-strings attached encounter.

Lucky is a blue-eyed dreamboat with gifted hands. He’s thirteen years younger than Marcy but very sensitive and attentive. “Lucky” for Marcy Lucky has been fantasizing about getting his hands on her outside of a therapeutic session.

After realizing they are openly flirting Lucky asks Marcy to sign-off as a client and invites her upstairs to his apartment for a different kind of hands on therapeutic session that leaves them both seeing stars.

Marcy loves her evening with Lucky but Lucky wants more. He invites her out on a dinner date and that’s great too. Lucky begins to protectively worry about Marcy’s work situation. Marcy begins to want Lucky for her own. They soon realize the attraction is deeper than physical and that they might be able to share a lot more.

So much for no-strings attached… Now what?

Well there’s some trouble… These two sympathetic souls have some issues to solve and an attraction that won’t allow them to walk away. Fortunately, Lucky is a very selfless person with one hell of a surprise up his sleeve.

I truly enjoyed the adventure and sexual surprises in “Gett’n Lucky”. This is pure wish fulfillment and fantasy in the flesh. The story moves fast but there is a lot of lovely detail that made me feel as if I was along for the date or in Marcy’s apartment.

I’ll go out on a limb and say “Gett’n Lucky” is my favorite book by Amber Skyze to date.

If you haven’t yet read an Amber Skyze book “Gett’n Lucky” is a great place to start.  I highly recommend it. (And I predict a sequel! lol)

There's a Cougar in Town

Hey everyone I'm really excited about this book, which is available tomorrow. The book is part of the Cougar Challenge series over at Ellora's Cave. I'm honored to be part of an amazing series. I hope my story lives up to the rest of the books. :-) Here's a little taste of my cougar and her cub.

A story in the Cougar Challenge series.

Marcy Brown can’t get enough of Lucky, her massage therapist. Lucky’s fingers always linger dangerously close to…sensitive areas, and ignite a fire she can’t ignore. Marcy isn’t looking for a relationship, but a friend with benefits would be right up her alley. The women of her fave blog, Tempt the Cougar, swear by younger men, but Marcy doesn’t want to train someone. She wants a man who can give her orgasm after orgasm.

Lucky offers to be her secret lover and help her realize all her fantasies. With Lucky, Marcy discovers the thrill of sexual positions and taboos she’s been missing out on—up to and including sex with two gorgeous men at once.

All bets are off when this Cougar is challenged to get her growl on.

Chapter One

“Isn’t he hot, sweetie?”
“Mom!” Marcy groaned.
“What? Is there something wrong with me thinking the young doctor is sexy?”
“Mother, please.” Not that there was anything wrong with her admiring the younger doctor. Shit Marcy fantasized about younger men, but she kept it under wraps. She didn’t speak the words out loud.
Marcy wished she could crawl under a rock and die. They were in the recovery room. Her mother had just undergone surgery for her broken wrist. It wasn’t like they were alone. The room was full of other people who had come from surgery too, along with their family members. Marcy looked around to see if anyone else was listening to her mother’s tirade. She couldn’t believe her mother was talking about how hot the doctor was in front of all these people. Christ, he was young enough to be her son, possibly grandson.
“Thank you,” the doctor said. “Now I want you to rest for the next few days. No using those fingers, either. You need to give your body time to recuperate.”
“Anything you say, Doctor.”
Marcy watched as her mother made googly eyes at the doctor.
“Do you make house calls?” she asked, reaching out with her good hand to touch him.
He chuckled.
“They don’t allow us to go to patients’ homes, but I’ll see you in a few days at my office. All right?”
“If you insist.”
“I’ll see you soon.” He patted her mother’s leg before rushing off to his next patient.
Marcy looked down at her mother.
“I can’t believe you just said those things to the doctor, Mother,” she whispered.
“It’s all right, Ms. Brown,” the nurse said. “There’s nothing to be ashamed of. Lots of women enjoy the company of younger men.”
Not my mother and certainly not me. Though she couldn’t deny the growing attraction she’d been feeling for Lucky. Lately every time he massaged her he came dangerously close to her pussy, stirring up tingling sensations she hadn’t felt in a very long time. Thankfully her vibrator gave her the relief she craved after leaving her weekly massages, because she couldn’t risk losing Lucky. Entering into anything sexual with him would cross too many boundaries for her. She might have to change massage therapists and that would be a pity.
“I appreciate your understanding, but that doctor could be her grandson.” She knew she was exaggerating, but seriously. Her mother was too old to be drooling over the doctor.
The nurse laughed.
Marcy didn’t find anything funny about her mother fawning over the young stud. Yes, he was cute, not her type, but nice-looking.
“Stop being so uptight, Marcy. Just because Dan wasn’t smart enough to stick around doesn’t mean you’re a dead fish. You can have a little fun if you know what I mean.” Her mother winked.
Marcy wanted to flee the recovery room.
“It’s the anesthesia.” The nurse patted her hand.
“Thanks.” Marcy looked at her name tag. “Elizabeth.”
“No problem. I have a few things to check on, but I’ll be back shortly. Don’t worry about your mother. Once the anesthesia wears off she’ll probably forget the things she said.”
God she prayed the nurse was right. She couldn’t have her mother talking like this.
“I appreciate your understanding.”
The nurse nodded before heading off. She returned an hour later.
“Here are your discharge papers,” Elizabeth said. “And here’s something just in case your mom is serious.”
Marcy took the business card.
“Tempt the Cougar? What’s this?”
In a hushed tone, Elizabeth explained. “It’s a blog where women who want to experience the thrill of younger men gather.”
“Oh no. My mother definitely doesn’t need this.” Marcy attempted to hand the card back to her.
“Take it. You never know.”
“I’m sorry, but I do know. This is not something my mother would be interested in.”
Elizabeth shrugged.
“Then keep it for yourself. You never know, you might find it interesting.” She rushed off before Marcy could object.

7 Ways to create a New Lover!

Tall, Dark and Handsome.
Blond, Big and Buff.
Muscular.. and Mean.
Whoa! Mean?
Lately, I've read a few where the hero comes off as too mean to be a lover. My lover. Your lover.
Now, I like my men strong, emotionally and physically, but I like them rational, too.
Except when they are falling in love, of course.
As we find in our real life that people are more rude, our children are bullied, and some just want to hog everything from the road to the airwaves to the political stage, muscle seems to be the modus operandi.
I like fortitude and bravery, but I also like my men smoothly conquering the challenges in life, not intimidating others, especially their women.
Here is a nibble of my new cherry, out this Wednesday from , MISS DARLING'S INDECENT OFFER is #3 in my best-selling (drum-roll) regency series on 3 different sales sites! (Whodathunk?)

She held tightly to his hand all the way home to Durham Manor. A short ride of ten minutes, the journey seemed to take ten years. But snuggled against Jack’s chest, Emma listened to his heart beat and the pace resounded with her own yearning. To make love to him, to be loved by him for just one night seemed so impossible days ago that she had feared to make this last request in her offer. But he had agreed and now he seemed as eager as she.

Do not delude yourself, Emma. Men love rarely. That was her mother’s warning.

Emma fought back the dour words, so daunting to her fortitude. But you do not wish for love from him. Only the deflowering.

She squirmed in her seat. Be honest, Emma, don’t you want more?

“You are sad. Why?” Jack lifted her chin. “If you have second thoughts on this, I can—”

“No!” She tried in vain to smile at him. “I was thinking of people who have nothing to do with us.”

Jack’s silver eyes seemed to look straight through her. “Who?”

“My mother.”

“She has to do with you. So tell me.”

“She has a jaded view of men. Thinks none worthy of her. Thinks few can honor a woman’s affections.”

“Do you believe her?”

Emma examined his earnest features, so intent on her. “I always thought her a little…extreme.”

“Parents often appear that way.”

“They do. After a while, it becomes imperative to rid yourself of their notions.”

He hooted. “How true. I’ll tell you about my father sometime. His notions are notoriously odd.”

“I have heard.”

“Really? I wonder that they did not deter you from approaching me,” he said with distaste for the subject.

“They were, I am ashamed to say, the very reasons that I did,” she admitted, felt her cheeks flush with color and turned her face toward the coachman who pulled open the door and let down the steps. “I think of you differently now.”

He cupped her face with one hand and led her to look at him. “Do you, darling? How encouraging,” he whispered as he bent and kissed her slowly, his mouth blessing hers time and time again and creating a craving for more. “Come,” he said breathlessly as the barouche rolled to a stop and he broke away. Quickly, he stepped out, offered his hand and led her up the broad stone steps.

For the love of Pete!

I cannot for the life of me remember Fridays!

If I could this dang thing to schedule my posts I'd post in advance, but it won't work for me - it posts everything I write instantly. Either the site loves me or hates me, I don't know which!

Here's my Jake on a hike last Sunday. It had been raining and we hiked to a creek - the same creek where Louie (died in June) and I used to see a mountain lion that the county has since trapped. Makes me so mad! I kept quiet about that lion for ten years.

The tentative release date for Come Back To Me, my romance/suspense with Evernight Publishing, is November 26th. Just finished edits - yay!
Not much else to tell - everybody is super busy. Hope your Thanksgiving is amazing and I'll see you next Friday. I'm getting a personalized license plate that says ALWAZL8!

I love the excitement of having a new book come out but each time that happens I forget how distracting it is to the rest of the writing process.

I can’t concentrate to write on the many WIPs I need to finish because there are so many other equally important things to do. I’ve spent days doing a few simple things I thought I could accomplish in an afternoon.

I updated my other long neglected blog that was difficult to read because of too busy of a background pattern. I updated my website, which I always manage to fumble up in some way. I requested book reviews from almost everyone who reads ebooks and started planning a few guest blogs and advertising.

The book trailer for “Nice Package” took the lion’s share of the time. After a few long days of “quick tasks” I fully realized doing this job was another part-job in itself. I truly admire authors who manage these tasks well.

I asked my husband to help me design a book trailer for “Nice Package” and I love what he made. The music is Rimsky Korsakov’s “Song of India” and it’s a piece of music my mother loved and played on the piano.

I had some trouble uploading it to Youtube last night so I might change the link later because the quality isn't as sharp as I would like. Some lovely details were lost in this upload so I'll try again.

(This is an updated link! I apologize for anyone's frustration earlier today)

Also, I want to encourage everyone to join the Seven Sexy Scribes yahoo chat loop. We’re planning author chats, lots of ebook give-aways, and maybe a few surprises too. So please join. This is a fun low-key group and it’s easy to jump in.

Enjoy Veteran’s Day tomorrow and honor our Veterans in some way. We all know and we all owe someone in the Service.

Moving at a Turtle's Pace

Today was the first productive day I’ve had in a long time. I added 1500 to my wip. You wouldn’t mind but it’s under contract. I have to write it. Which leads me to wonder – am I blocked because I have to write it?
Words normally flow from me easily. I can plow through a 25k book in a month. Yet, it’s been six weeks and this has 6400 words. Yes, I’ve been busy with other things in my life, but writing always took priority.
Lately I find myself sleeping in rather than waking at 4am. I’m sure the change of season plays a part. November has always been a productive month for me. In the last 4 years I’ve participated in Nano I’ve accomplished the 50k goal. I don’t see that happening this year.
I’m not beating myself up about it. I’ve had a good year. Scratch that I’ve had a GREAT year. I’ve had a release every month in 2010, except February, BUT, I had two in March, two in June and three in September so it all averages out.
I think I feel the pressure of not having anything planned for 2011. Yes, I have the contract for All or Nothing, so that should be published in 2011, but other than that – nothing.
Am I freaking myself out? Maybe. Before long I’ll be setting my goals for the New Year. What heights do I want to reach next year?
What goals do you want to reach in 2011?

Regencies are hot! MISS DARLING'S INDECENT OFFER out 11/17

The oldest Stanhope brother is about to meet his match.
On a rainy night outside his club, a frightened young woman falls in front of his carriage. When he scoops her up and bundles her inside, she makes him the most shocking indecent offer.
Miss Darling, you see, is no ordinary woman. She's an heiress and for months now, she's been locked away by her step-father. Ah, yes. Terrible man. Needs a stronger one to show him what for, eh?
Wednesday Nov. 17 at the third in my Regency quintet appears. MISS DARLING'S INDECENT OFFER was a joy to write. Saving women from those who would abuse them appeals to my writer's muse and my woman's heart.
The first two, LORD STANHOPE'S IMPROPER PROPOSAL, and second, LADY FEATHERSTONE'S FERVENT AFFAIR (with free read inside) have been in top 5 best-sellers over at for nearly 2 months running, and at in the top 10. Now they are doing extremely well on Kindle as well.
Ciao, bella!

Getting back into the saddle is easier said than done...

After almost two years of hiding behind an old photograph, I "came out" at Romanticon...
I admitted who I am, and what I truly look like...all five chins, tiny little teeth, and 75 extra pounds of adipose tissue.  I think my greatest fear was that people would not accept me for what and who I truly am. (Or is that "whom"?)  After all...I am an author of sexy, hot, erotic romance...right?  Am I not expected to be hot, sexy, and gorgeous?

Well...except for being about the oldest author in attendance, I found that people couldn't have cared less about what I looked like, or what I weighed, or the fact that I cannot wear face makeup.  I was made to feel instantly at home.

Now...all I gotta do is get back into the saddle with my writing.
I have been in the worst sort of writing slump for the past three months, and I am slowly working my way out of it. While all of my friends have written a dozen books in the past few months, I have about ten on the fire, but none are baked yet. I am working diligently on getting back the spark, and I think I will have to do it the hard way this time...I will actually start a brand new story and dump the ones that have me stumped, leaving them for much later.

Have you been stuck in a rut like I am?  What did you do to get out of it?  Advice, please!

I'll be brief...

Not much to tell because there is so much to tell.

Come Back to Me will be out with Evernight later this month. Finished up with one WIP and I've started four more.

I"m pretty burned out by all the World Series excitement, but I'll treasure every single moment.

Have a wonderful weekend! Julia

Revisiting My Vamps

A wonderful review this week for TLNaV

How about an excerpt?

“Just remember, I was painfully honest regarding my skill level.” She smiled shyly first at Tony before turning toward Rick, who was now standing next to them. “But I’m game if you are.”

Rick flashed his killer grin as he lowered his head. Sandy eagerly reached out and pulled him down to her lips. He laid one hand on her thigh and gently cupped her breast with the other. His kiss was tentative, as were his hands. Hers were not. She grabbed a handful of his hair as she guided his fingers to play with her nipple. He pinched the hardened tip, and when she whimpered with pleasure, his tongue slid between her parted lips.

Unlike Tony, who had taken command and control of their passion, Rick coaxed and teased, allowed her to set the pace. Sandy’s confidence increased with each touch and taste. When she tried to shimmy closer to Rick, Tony’s arms flexed, reminding her she was held by one man while she made out with another!

What was a girl to do? Still kissing Rick, she let go of his hair and wrapped her arm around Tony’s neck, pulling them all more tightly together. She stroked his skin as he dropped kisses on the top of her head.

“I swear to God we are going to leave this kitchen.” Tony’s strained words had her laughing against Rick’s lips.

“Aren’t you kind of in charge of that?” she asked playfully, looking down at the floor and swinging her legs that dangled over his arm.

“Indeed I am,” he agreed quickly. “Upstairs, Rick, now.”

“I think I could get used to this mode of transportation.” She giggled as Tony took the stairs two at a time. His eagerness was endearing, thrilling and wildly arousing. Her confidence increased with every step he took.

“If it makes you happy, we’ll take turns carrying you everywhere you want to go, honey.” Rick laughed as they entered the bedroom.

“An interesting concept but kind of problematic in public though.”

“Then we will only use our very private way of transportation to get you to where we can make love.” Tony set her gently on the bed. In a flash, both men were gloriously naked and crawling onto the mattress. They knelt at her feet and began caressing up her legs. She couldn’t help but stare at their magnificent, fully aroused cocks. Desirability and a sense of pure feminine power thrummed though her system, raising goose bumps and sending her heart racing. She reached out, but Rick caught both her hands in his and kissed her fingertips.

“Lie back, Sandy,” Rick coaxed, sliding up along her side as he guided her down onto the pillows. “Hold on here.” He placed her arms above her head and wrapped her fingers around the wooden spindles of the headboard.

“But I want to touch you,” she whimpered.

“Right now, honey, just feel.”

The Carousel of Chaos!

I am not an organized linear-thinking type of person. My mind wanders in many directions at once. When I was a painter that tendency was a good thing. I would start one canvas, get as far as the wet paint would allow, set it aside and start another canvas. I typically kept five canvases going at once each in various stages of completion. It was an efficient way to work and I got a lot accomplished.
When I started writing a few of my old habits crept into my new life. I found I could get a strong start on a story and get perhaps 40K into it before another completely different idea hijacked my interests and carried me away. I currently have sixteen WIPs going all between 15-to 80k. I worked on four of them this week including a new one I started last Monday.
Each week I choose several WIPs to keep on my desktop and open the one that calls to me. The moment I get bogged down with a WIP, I put it away, take a dog walk and open something else when I get back.
I call this technique “The Carousel of Chaos” and it works for me though I know it might drive others crazy.
The plus side of the Carousel of Chaos is I never get bored and I often finish a couple stories back to back. I try my best to get at least a 1k a day written on something. On a great day I get 2k. I also means I have to keep a plot line and notes about each WIP handy because it does get confusing.
On another note, last Sunday just an hour before trick or treating started, I managed to finish edits on my Christmas themed story for Ellora’s Cave, “Nice Package” and email it my editor, make grilled-cheese sandwiches, carve a sloppy pumpkin, paint Vampire make-up on the family and get everyone out the door to trick or treat. It was a bit rushed but we had a great Halloween.
I got the book cover for “Nice Package” and I love it! Syneca did it and I can’t wait to share it.
To celebrate the Celtic-Pagan New Year I set new WIPs on the Carousel of Chaos and have a couple more books nearing the finish line, which I hope to deliver to my editor by early 2011.
I saw the email this week that next year’s Romantic Times Convention is being held in Los Angeles April 6-10, 2011. I’m on the West Coast so I’m thrilled that I can drive to this one and hopefully meet a few of you face to face!
If you’re a writer and you have tips to share about organizing and working with multiple WIPs—please leave me a comment! lol
Have a wonderful week.

This and That

November is here and Nano has begun. I’m not off to great start! LOL
First, I had to change my writing plans. I won’t be working on The Cheater’s Club, at least not right now. Why? Because I was offered a contract from Loose Id! Now I have to write the story. I subbed a proposal which they liked. Then they asked for a partial. I subbed the first chapter and a few hours later the contract arrived. YAY!!!
Talk about performance anxiety. The story, titled All or Nothing takes place in Vegas. My sweet friend Kat sent me some "sweet" inspiration to write the story. ;)
Yesterday I managed to get 732 words written – only 1k shy of the daily goal. LOL it’s okay though. I’m not pressuring myself.
In other news, I’m also working on making changes to Sex on the Beach. Loose Id liked this story but asked for some minor changes. I say minor, but now I have to weave bits and pieces throughout the entire book. Hopefully I’ll get that done by weeks end and they’ll like the changes.
I’m having 2 contests in my newsletter this month. One for my birthday and one for my new release coming out November 17th. My cougar challenge book. You must be a subscriber to win. Here’s the link if you’re interested!

And lastly, I’m off to Salem MA this weekend for a family reunion. I’m really excited, because I’ve never been.
Til Next Week!

Nibble my new cherry, WHENEVER WE MEET

WHENEVER WE MEET is out now at
Lovely young widow Angela Reynolds doesn’t need a gorgeous older man pursuing her while she asserts her independence professionally and personally. But hotel magnate Stephen Montoya will not permit this sweet vibrant beauty to escape his desires. When he demands she kiss him each time she enters a room and each time she leaves it, the two of them discover that some passions cannot be denied—or tamed. So when Stephen asks her to marry him, Angela knows that she wants his tantalizing body inside hers for heart-pounding intimacies she has only imagined. Will she surrender to this dominating man or challenge her newly found freedom?

“I have wanted you since the first moment I saw you.” She kissed his dimple and pressed herself nearer. “I think I have wanted you forever.” She put her mouth to his then, a light touch, a prelude to all she craved from him.
He moaned and bound her close, his hand in her hair, his lips seizing hers, and in his ardor, he bent her back over his arm. His mouth was warm, his tongue swift and insistent as he cherished her. His arms were steel, his torso her only support in a world topsy-turvy.
She dug her nails into his shirt as he kissed his way across her cheek and down her throat. She felt her breasts bead with hunger, her pussy cream in demand.
“I have needed to taste you, my angel, for months.” He caught her up in his arms and strode to the bedroom where he laid her gently across the satin comforter.
“Stephen,” she whispered as he straddled her and absorbed the sight of her naked body. His smoldering regard made her arch, her breasts rising with her rapid breaths, her core pulsing. “I can’t wait any longer.” She sent her hands down his torso, tugging at his shirt and his trousers. “Take these off.”
“No, mi corazon.” He bent, his lips to her own. “Now that you are mine, I have an eternity to love you.” With one open palm he traced her hair, her face, her throat, one breast, her belly and cupped her core. Two fingers slid along her seam.
She arched and quaked with expectation.
“I will show you what bliss can be,” he told her, his words more breath than sound.
“Si, si, please.”
His fingers sank inside her. She writhed upward, his molten caress along her channel making her groan and spread her thighs wider.
“You are hot to have me.” He smiled wickedly at her as he delved deeper and made her twist to get closer to him. “How lucky I am.”
She tipped up her hips. “I’m the lucky one, darling. I had no idea…um…no idea a man like you could wait.” She clutched at his shoulders as he dipped to run his open mouth along her throat and find one nipple to kiss and lick.
“I have waited years and years to find you, my sweet,” he told her as he paused to look into her eyes. “But now,” he whispered as he cupped her other breast and sucked her into his mouth, “we wait no longer. We will have all there is from the other.” He slid lower to put his lips to her belly. As he trailed kisses down to her core, the memory came that Wade had never kissed her there. Never wanted to.
She arched, ravenous to have more of Stephen’s attentions, wondering how she could be so fortunate to find him.
“My angel,” he crooned, “I knew there was beauty here.” He threaded his fingers through her pussy hair and she purred. “I knew there was sweetness here,” he spread her labia wide with two hands and bent to lick her clit with the tip of his tongue. She caught her breath, understanding that this fierce tenderness of his was what she craved. “I knew here was a woman I could possess—” He nipped her clit and then sucked it into the hot cavern of his mouth.
Fearing to move and break this luscious delight of his mouth on her, she clutched at his shoulders.
“I knew that here,” he whispered as he pinched her clit and laved her lips with fierce devotion, “was a woman who could possess me.” He crawled up to push back her hair from her cheeks. “Let me make love to you as I wish. When I wish. And in return, you must promise to tell me what you want from me.”
“I will. I promise.” That kind of sharing, that kind of freedom was new to her too. She traced the outline of his lips, then sent her hand to his hips and the hard high erection that strained the fabric of his trousers. “Show me.”
He rose and divested himself of his clothes, returning to her like a darkly sculpted god from some fable.
She ran her hands over the hard planes of his shoulders, the arch of his pectorals, the sweet taper to his waist and the sinewy definition of his loins. His cock stood tall and red, proud and oh so appealing. She caressed his turgid length and thumbed his slit in fascination until he snorted.
“We will finish before we begin!” He clamped his hand over hers.
She teased him. “You have more self-control than that. I have seen it.”
He put his cock to the entrance to her channel. “That man is no longer here.” He slid inside her, a scalding sensation of liquid fire.
Her eyes drifted closed. Her mouth opened. Her pussy pulsed around his shaft.
He circled inside her warm depths. “In his place is this man.”
“I know him,” she whispered. “He is my husband.”
“He is your lover,” he declared. “And you, my darling, are mine.”
