Moving my computer back to my bedroom...

I would much rather write in a place where there is sensuality and order...

than in a young man's bedroom where there is chaos, disorder, and stinky gym shoes strewn in every corner. Guitar and amp and heavy metal accoutrements strewn haphazardly around the place...dirty clothes flung onto the floor rather than in the hamper that I put in here for them. No matter how often I remind him that it is also my computer room, he seems to forget the moment I stop nagging.

He works 10 hours a day, four days a week at a cabinet shop. His clothes gather tons of sawdust and wood chips.  He leaves the house at 5:00 a.m. and gets home after 5:00 p.m. after a 15 mile drive in lousy traffic. The sawdust covered clothes are tossed onto the floor. You get the picture.

The only time I have to actually write is while he is gone. So you see, I must move my computer out of this mess and put it back where I can spend the evening hours writing. I am not a daytime writer. And I cannot seem to concentrate on sexy romance in the midst of all this chaos and mess.

I helped raise my grandson and promised that he would always have a place here. But a few years ago, he went to stay with his dad, who didn't care one way or the other about the boy until he figured the boy was old enough to go hunting and fishing and shooting cans with his .22. The thought of actually buying groceries instead of that extra case of scotch or that box of cigars never registered with the jerk even after he had his son under his roof.

After four years of haphazard survival, the kid grew a brain and decided maybe Grandma was about the only person who cared enough to give him a safe place to live while he tried to build a life again. So the nice computer room that his bedroom had become is now filled with clutter, dirty clothes, and sawdust. Sigh. And I refuse to pick up after him now that he is an adult. So I will move out of the room...and we can both have our privacy.

Too bad this little old house is so small, and has so little storage space. But I made it work out before, and I can make it work out again. So wish me luck as I make the transition back to my own room. I like having the ability to close my door and write...then fall into bed.

Hugs!

One of My New Heroes

When I’m feeling blue, or need creative inspiration, our wonderful Katalina Leon has a knack for sending just the right picture which puts me back on track. The other day, she told me about Pinterest and I checked out her site. This glorious image was one of many I found there.

I’m a very visual person. Framed collages of photographs cover my family room walls; vacations, kids and grandkids, holidays, life in general. There isn’t a tabletop in any room that doesn’t have at least one photo on it. My book covers decorate my kitchen walls. When I was a teenager, buying posters of my favorite musicians and bands caused big excitement. In the earlier years of our marriage, my hubby, Mister Indulgent, just smiled and rolled his eyes at the life-size cardboard figures of Fabio and Kevin Sorbo which stood next to our TV.

When I write a book, I have to have a clear picture of the hero(s) and heroine in my mind before I tell their story. Many times, once I start typing, they behave in ways I didn’t anticipate, but their physical appearance never changes.

Now to the fun stuff – let’s all gaze together, in my case longingly, at this yummy specimen of male goodness! He is Garfor, one of the three heroes in my upcoming release (July 31st), Megan’s Men, in the flesh!!

Can’t you see him at the command of a military space ship? And look at his left hand, the positioning of his fingers; this man can play a woman’s body like a fine tuned instrument.

Oops, wait a second. I have to take a sip of my cooling beverage and blot my feverish brow.

Look into his eyes. I see confidence without arrogance and a whole bunch of, “I’m going to take you to heights of sexual satisfaction you’ve only dreamt of.”!
His picture currently sits to the left of my computer so he can gaze at me as I finish writing Megan's Men.

Have a great weekend~

Cover Reveal And A New Contract Too!

This was a great weekend. I saw Ironman 3 with my husband and son and we loved it. I got a new book cover that I think is gorgeous! I believe Syneca did this one and of course that is late and will always be great Angelo as Lord Ronan O'Griofa. Last but not least I got a book contract from Ellora's Cave for a time travel wolf-shifter novel that I can't wait to share more about!

This is the the cover for Lord Griffin's Prize. It's part of the Emerald Isles Fantasies book series, which includes ten amazing Ellora's Cave authors, an enchanted Irish castle, magic and handsome heroes! I'm expecting edits soon, no release date yet. This series is so much fun! I can't wait to share it.

Have a wonderful week. I wish all the moms a very Happy Mother's Day!

Interview with Heather Peters

Buy Link
Today I'd like to introduce you to a long-time friend Heather Peters. She writes sexy hockey stories, along with other totally fantastic books. I highly recommend them all!

Okay Heather…Tell us about your favorite character from your books. Right now my favorite characters are Nate and John from my new release, Whispers. They tore at my heartstrings. And, they're really hot and sexy!

1.  Tell us about your current release. Whispers is my new 2-novella anthology. The first story, Whispered Magic, is about Nate and Crystal, who meet one Halloween afternoon in Hawthorne Square, in Salem. Nate's aunt Lily, owns the local and very popular New Age shop, Mother Earth. She is an 80yr old, sharp, intuitive woman,  a little on the eccentric side. When Nate and Crystal find that they are instantly attracted to each other, one has to wonder if love at first sight is in play here, or is Aunty Lily up to her old (magic) tricks….The second story is told within the context of a five day cruise to the Caribbean. John Stabler is hired to find a runaway bride. He's a weary, hurting private investigator who knows if he finds this publishing heiress, the money he earns will enable him to finally retire to his mountain cabin. He doesn’t figure on meeting Celeste Foxworth, who steals his heart, and melts his jaded, cynical heart.

2.  Tell us about your next release. Ah, now my favorite subject: sports, or in the case of my next 2-novella anthology, Rules of the Game #3, both will be hockey stories, and I have two amazing heroes who not only play some ass-kicking hockey, but are also floored and humbled by the women they meet and fall in love with. This one will be released in very late Summer.

3.  What does your family think of your writing career?  I can answer that by quoting my 6 year old grandson, who overheard me tell my daughter about the release of Whispers, and commented: Nanny, you write about hockey players and love right?  That's my boy.

4.   As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? An actress, a rock goddess like Stevie Nicks, an archaeologist, a music producer, and a writer.  Well, one out of five ain't bad.
Amber: I wanted to be a rock goddess like Stevie Nicks too!!!! I still do. lol

5.  What are your favorite TV shows? As I grow older, I find my tastes grow more and more eclectic. I absolutely love The Walking Dead, The Big C, Nurse Jackie and Dexter. On the other hand, I also enjoy True Blood, Family Guy,Tanked, Once Upon a Time, Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Beauty and the Beast. Oh, I rarely watch the news; it depresses me.

6.   Do you have any suggestions for beginning writers? If so, what are they? I'm sure they've heard it all  before. I've been writing for the better part of thirty years; many rejections, a lot of tears and frustration, also there were a few years here and there where I didn’t write at all. Now after finally seeing a little success being an indie author/publisher, I only have three words, Don’t give up ~ If you are really serious about making it as a writer, you have to be tough and resilient. If you have a dream, go after it. It's a short life, go after what you want.

8. Tell us about your family.  I've been blessed with two amazing children (that includes my son-in-law and daughter-in-law).  My elderly dad lives with me and he can still drive me crazy, but at the age of 88, the man can still (and does) balance his checkbook to the penny, I kid you not. I have a best friend who has put up with my moods for the past thirty years (and still loves me). The love of my life and soul mate, Michael, passed nearly three years ago. He was my husband, lover, best friend, and encouraged my need to write every day of his life. I count myself so incredibly blessed to have had him in my life for twelve, amazing years.

9.  Morning Person? Or Night Person?  Definitely morning. I have no problem turning in at 7:30 p.m. Really. Seriously.

10.  What would we find under your bed? I don’t planning on looking any time soon.

Want to be stolen by a Comanche chief? STEAL ME AWAY, May 8

http://www.ellorascave.com/steal-me-away.html

The prequel to my KNIGHTS IN BLACK LEATHER series, STEAL ME AWAY debuts at EC in 2 days. Yes, Wednesday! This is a book I had a wonderful time researching.
And lemme just say, yummers to the cover artist who captured BULL ELK so well. Fancy Turner, too!
He is delicious, I think, in print and in person.
Imagine. Being stolen and loving every second of it...almost!
The Comanche of the south Texas plains were not gentle people. In fact, they were to many the most fierce, the angriest ones to confront the Anglos and Tejanos who came to settle here.
Because very few Comanche remain, I had a devil of a time researching. In fact, this book has lived in my mind for many years!
But let's here it for my hubbie who, while on TDY in Oklahoma last year, found the most marvelous reference on them.
I had read bits and snatches in other books devoted to other subjects, but here in STEAL ME AWAY, you learn (really you do!) what I learned. And it is historically accurate, down to the last few chapters...which I will unmercifully tease you with and say, you must read to learn!
ENJOY!
Bull Elk is one of my most favorite heroes...and I hope you agree!

"Training Randi" Just Got Hotter!

Today is a great day for Tessie Bradford fans! “Training Randi” has been re-released with added scenes, fun and even more sexy romance. The newly expanded version of Training Randi is available today from Resplendence Press!

I also have the stars of Training Randi sitting right in front of me (wink) and I’m going to ask them a few questions and offer an excerpt.

So here we go with the basics about Randi and Jeff:

Name              Miranda (Randi) Ellson        Jeff Briggs
Occupation     Interior Designer                  Personal Trainer, Gym Owner
Age                  33                                           37

KL:  Are you Day or Night persons?
Randi:              Day, definitely. I’m starting my own interior design business, so I’ve got a lot to do!

Jeff:  My gyms open at six a.m. and I workout beforehand. Plus I’m on staff with the Athletic Department at the university; days it is for me, too.

KL: Do you have any pets or plans to share a pet?
Jeff:  I’d love to have a dog, maybe a lab or shepherd.

Randi:  Hey, I didn’t know that. Let’s go to the shelter this weekend!

KL: Get that shelter dog! You won’t regret it. I have one and I love her. Next item, I think I already know the answer to this one. On a lazy Sunday, which do you prefer wearing cowboy boots or cross trainers?

Randi & Jeff (in unison):  Cross trainers

KL: Okay you’re both gym rats, I knew that but I just wanted to be sure. What music are you listening to?

Randi: I’m going through a classic rock phase right now, heavy on the heavy metal.

Jeff:  Yeah, and my eardrums might not recover! The other night when I got home from work, I swear the windows were shaking it was so loud.  She didn’t even hear me calling to her until I was at her office door.

Randi:  You scared the crap out of me. I was deep in the creative zone.

Jeff:  Darlin’, you were dancing around the room, singing into your pen!

KL: You sing into a pen? I won’t ask. What’s your favorite type of Kiss?

Jeff: French!

Randi:  I’m pretty sure she was asking about the candy.

Jeff:  Oh, sorry.

KL: Okay, I was hoping for a sexy answer. I’ll try again. What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
Jeff:  Deep dish pizza with double cheese and Italian sausage.

Randi:  Bravo channel reality shows.

KL: What’s your favorite kinky pleasure?

Jeff:  I have to pick just one?

Randi:  Oh, now you’ve done it. Kinky is his middle name!

Jeff:  And you love every minute of it.  To answer the question; warming her bottom with her favorite flogger, or a paddle, or my hand until she begs me to let her come.

Randi:  That’s mine, too!

KL: By the way, Jeff and Randi are definitely kinky and very much in love. If you want to have a little more fun with these two, you’ll love the newly expanded version of “Training Randi” from Resplendence Press!

Want a little more?
Here’s a blurb and excerpt.

Blurb: Training Randi

Miranda Ellson graduated from college with a degree in design in one hand and a ticket out of town in the other. Ten years, a couple of job changes and three boring, unfulfilling relationships later she’s back at RU to re-connect with old friends, enjoy the campus activities and take a break from…oh who the hell is she kidding? Jeff Briggs, former college neighbor and best bud, now successful gym owner, lives in town. He’s the only guy she has ever known who could set her panties on fire by simply walking into a room and Randi is sick and tired of only hooking up with him in her dreams. This may be her only chance to discover exactly what kind of personal training he has to offer.

“Did I mention I brought you presents?” he asked after hanging up their coats.
“No, no you didn’t,” she said, rubbing her hands together in glee. “What’s the occasion?”
“Does there need to be one for me to give the love of my life a gift?” he asked as he headed towards her bedroom.
Her tummy did a flip-flop. She loved Jeff with all of her heart and was pretty damn sure she’d never get tired of him telling her he felt the same.
Jeff returned carrying a wrapped box. He sat down on the couch and patted the cushion next to him. He set the package in her lap when she joined him. Without preamble, Randi ripped off the paper and dropped it on the floor.
“You’re in charge of clean up on Christmas morning,” he said, chuckling.
“Deal,” she agreed, tossing the top to the ground also. The contents were hidden by shimmery pink tissue paper. Randi used more care in folding back the layers.
“Oh my God, Jeff, how gorgeous,” she exclaimed, holding up the stunningly beautiful negligee. It was lace and silk in a pale shade of rose. As she caressed the sumptuous material, she noticed there was more in the box. “A robe, too? This is incredible. Thank you so much.” Randi threw her arms around his neck and kissed him.
“You’re more than welcome, darlin’, but keep going.”
She fully removed the robe and let out a low whistle. There was a pair of fur-lined handcuffs, a blindfold and an extremely life-like dildo. Her nipples sprang to attention and heat bloomed in her pussy.
“I’m in charge of this evening’s activities,” he announced in a low, sultry voice while laying the garments back in the box.
“Yes, please!” she said with vehemence.
Jeff stood, holding the box one hand, and held his other out to her. They moved to her bedroom. He set the items on the bed then focused his full attention on her.
Randi struggled to not hyperventilate while Jeff undid her blouse and removed her bra with agonizing slowness. He caressed both of her breasts before leaning in and drawing a nipple into his mouth. As he sucked on one hardened peak, he pinched and rolled the other between his thumb and forefinger.
Randi grasped his shoulders for support. Each suck of his moist warm mouth and tweak of his fingers enflamed her senses. She closed her eyes and moaned out her pleasure. Jeff chuckled against her ultra sensitized skin then relinquished her breasts.
Apparently in no mood to alter his pace, he turned the removal of her jeans and panties into an act of exquisite torture. Randi quivered as he stroked and kissed her tummy, hipbones, thighs and calves. Jeff was a master at making her feel beautiful, treasured, and loved. He was also extremely skilled in the art of teasing, and circled the tip of his tongue around her very needy clit just once before rising.
“I’ve been imagining seeing you in this for a week,” he whispered as he lowered the negligee over her head. He took a step back. “Damn, I didn’t even come close to picturing how amazing you look.”
Randi turned and checked out her reflection in the free-standing mirror next to her dresser. Being sheer but untailored, the gown both displayed and concealed her body. She swayed a bit from side to side and watched Jeff’s jaw drop open. Inspired, she trailed her fingertips from the top of her breasts to just below her belly button.
Jeff removed his clothes with far more urgency than he’d used removing hers. He came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist and gently pulled her back against him. Randi grinned at him in the mirror as he flexed his hips, causing his steely erection to rub along her ass.
“I’m going to cover the walls and ceiling of my bedroom with mirrors,” he announced while kissing a trail down the side of her neck.
“Ooo, way kinky,” Randi said, wiggling her eyebrows.
“Maybe a couple of cameras, too?”
“Hey now, let’s not go overboard.”
“You’re the one with the impressive X-rated movie library, darlin’.” He turned her to face him.
“Those are professional films with professional sex actors in them.”
Jeff laughed and tightened his arms around her. “That’s why our movies would be so much better; the reality factor. Two people, crazy in love, getting their freak on,”

Training Randi available today from Resplendence Press!

Love Tessie Bradford? I have more good news! Tessie has a new super hot romance coming July 31st, but I’ll let her tell you about it a little later because it’s so hot it would burn my tongue. : )

Sigh....it's too nice out to be inside...

I wanna be outside with this guy...

It looks so cool and lovely...if I could just get that gorgeous female model to go someplace else.  She would seriously cramp my style.

My lawn was about eight inches high when my daughter mowed it yesterday.  That's what I get for applying Weed and Feed in December in a snowstorm.

I just dumped over $4,000 into my car this past couple of days...four new tires, two lower front ball joints and sway bar bushings...and a brand-new transmission.  So much for the "great deal" I got last year on my pretty silver used car.  Never again will I trust a sweetly innocent-looking elderly man selling used cars.  The outside looked marvelous...but within a month, it was shifting rough, chugging, etc.  You can't just get a refund on a used car.  It took a full year to fall apart.  So I will do my best to pay off the car (I still owe $4,000 on it), pay off the loan I took out to fix it, and then I will start hunting for a nice NEW care with a full manufacturer's warranty...one that get about 40 miles to the gallon highway.

So, no...I will not be going to any conventions.  I will not be spending money on things I don't need.  I will get my fanny in gear and write another book so that my royalties will not dwindle to a precious few.  Is that a good enough incentive plan?

LOL!

Hugs!
