sighing with relief! The first round of reviews are all 5 stars, and now I can
relax—pheew! I was so hoping readers would love the enchanted realm Castel
Tullamore as much as I did. Here is a sample:

Review: Katalina Leon and I have met before—I had the great
pleasure to read her collaboration with Ms. Skyze in Claimed By Dragons, which
I loved, and her name has been stuck in my head for over a year now, so when I
saw she wrote Lord Griffin’s Prize I had to get my paws on it! And when I did I
read it through in one sitting, no matter the lateness of the hour.
It was so good I’m getting all giddy about it! It had
everything I love! Ireland, a castle, time-travel, paranormal creatures, strong
leading lady, sexy as hell hero with absolutely no commitment issues (in fact
the opposite he was fiercely loyal, attentive and had a bad case of the hots
for his wife even though it had been over 600 years since they last met)! But,
all these great things mean nothing if the story isn’t well written.
And it is! It was written to be interesting, addictive (I
seriously could not put the book down even though my hubby and dog complained
about the night reading) and entertaining! The characters had depth and
believability, I loved how Maeve told herself time and time again that all the
visions/time-travel she experienced were nothing to worry about, except that
she might be going bonkers, but there absolutely was no paranormal activity,
period. Loved how she had to backpedal with that. And I loved Ronan who tried
so hard to keep things casual when absolutely everything depended on her
falling in love with him again, and her being brave enough to admit it after her
recently nose-dived sham of a marriage.

that will stir a readers body and mind.”
This was my first
introduction to Katalina Leon's work, and I hope to read many more by this
author. This book in the Emerald Isle Fantasies series brings us to Tullamore
castle in Ireland: a castle with a long history and purported hauntings. Maeve
has fled the remnants of her newly divorced life, and come to Tullamore to
research her genealogy with hopes to write a historical romance. A dé Burgo by
birth, her family's heritage is tied to the castle, and interwoven with the
current owners the O'Griofas. Ronan O'Griofa is a purported professor of history
and expert on the stories of the castle, and he is going to answer Maeve's
questions as he takes her on a tour of the grounds and points of interest.
The world, the otherworldliness of the castle
and grounds were beautifully established, there is a curious potential of past
meeting present that is physically palpable, and Leon manages to convey that
sense in the story. Additionally, the use of legend and history, incorporating
a griffin and using the weather and mists of Ireland to further build the paranormal
element and build reader's expectations for intrigue.
And intrigue, sexy intrigue at that, there was:
from waking to find herself in the midst of a pitched battle for the castle, to
late night encounters with a stranger who disappears in a flash, to incredibly
steamy sex with the handsome Ronan in a cabin in the woods, Maeve has the
information and ability to change her life forever, if only she recognizes it.
If you've never been to Ireland, this will make you want to go: and for those
who have, the little details that are so unique and yet omnipresent feel just
right! Katalina Leon has created a great story with plenty of emotional and
physical details that will stir a reader's body and mind, and I now need to
read the others in the series.

My
Review:
I really loved this book. A time travel, mystical romance
without the usual supernatural creatures – utter amazing fantasy! The story was
addictive and it was so refreshing to have a normal woman as the lead. I’m not
sure where the author is from, but she manages to evoke a strong Celtic feel to
the book and doesn’t manage to use British stereotypes that usually end up
insulting.
I can’t fault the writing, the whole book flowed really well,
and quite frankly I came to the end all too soon. I’m glad to find that its
part of a series, so the magic hasn’t ended.
The sex wasn’t sleazy or random and fitted into the story
seamlessly – something that sets apart a good romance from straight erotica.
The front cover captures the essence of the story and you can’t
beat a hunky, half naked guy to stare at!
I’d really recommend this to anyone wanting a romantic fantasy
by their bedside – 5 out 5 stars!
