I want to send a very special thank you to the lovely Fran Lee for going the extra mile. Big kisses and a warm hug to you Fran!

This has been a busy writing season. I'm hoping by the end of December to have finished four new novellas and start getting those books self-edited and in the submission queue by January.

I hope everyone is having a good holiday season. I'll have more to share soon.

Reviewers Needed: I've Got Three ARCs to Share!

I've got three fun, sexy and exciting books due for release in early 2015 and the Author Review Copies are ready now.

I love reviews. I need reviews!

If you are a fan of paranormal romance, wolf-shifters, Science-fiction fantasy or hunky Alpha heroes in general, I have a few new books to introduce you to. If you are interested, I would love to send you a watermarked Author Review Copy of any or all three books, no strings attached. I only ask you be fair. Do not share your ARC with anyone, especially a pirate site and re-post your review, on blogs, Goodreads and especially on Amazon!

Interested? Contact me at katalinaleon@ymail.com

Here are the books:

On The Run, Bounty Hunters.
“Retrieval specialist” is a fancy term for high-level corporate bounty hunting and Agent Gemmina Nayar is the best in her league. She’s a sense-enhanced, level-seven bounty hunter from New Mumbai who receives an exclusive invitation to track a dangerous criminal on private property. She arrives on the tropical planetoid eager to hunt and release her inner tigress, but is disappointed to discover the bounty has already been captured.
Syan is a Kironian, an off-limits alien race. He’s gorgeous, rugged and all male. Even sedated and forced to wear an electronic silence collar, he resembles a coppery skinned refugee from Mount Olympus. Gemmina’s unaware Kironian saliva is loaded with pheromones that can turn even the most indifferent woman into a willing mate. A single kiss or bite is sabotage.
When the mission turns lethal, she realizes she’s not only been tricked into bringing the wrong man to justice, but the harsh jungle below is a calculated trap.

Fated Desires The Set-Up Line
Fredi is a passionate witch with a scorching hot secret. Every time she has a sexual thought, green fire blasts from her fingertips. Gus is a gorgeous lycan who scares women away with his wild wolf-shifts. Not the best way to find relationships.
Both have vowed not to date until they get themselves under control, but a witchy friend thinks differently. The pair get tricked into sharing a frosty pitcher of “Hoodoo Blue” and fall prey to a wayward love potion that has them blurting out every lustful thought. Worse, it won’t allow them to walk away from each other. They’re stuck together until dawn under the devilish effects of a time-released hoodoo that makes them do outrageous things. For everyone’s safety, Fredi is forced to take Gus home and tie him to her headboard and only some very witchy lovemaking can calm the storm.
Fredi and Gus might find themselves on the set-up date from hell, but even a hilarious cascade of disasters can’t keep a plus-sized blonde witch with attitude, and a hunky lumberjack of a lycan from seeing the other would be the perfect mate.

Blurb: “Portrait of a Lone Wolf”.  Part of Black Hills Wolves Multi-Author Series. Coming in early 2015.
Rio Waya is a mixed-blood Native American wolf-shifter, abandoned by a teenage mother and ignored by an absentee father. He’s never fit in or felt worthy of love, but when he comes home to the Black Hills he realizes he wants a mate of his own.

Sela López is a documentary filmmaker and wildlife photographer, but she’s so busy looking through a camera lens that she doesn’t see trouble coming. Recovering from a cheating ex who started a new family behind her back, she rents a cabin in the Black Hills with plans to film the beleaguered wolf population.

Sela and Rio clash the moment they meet and hold each other emotionally hostage. Sparks fly as mutual fears and vulnerabilities surface. Sela can’t figure out why the mysterious Mr. Waya is so anxious about having a documentary made of the Black Hills Wolves.

While filming a lone wolf splashing beside a river through a telephoto lens, matters get out of control. Sela is astonished to witness it transform into a naked man—Rio.

The secret’s out and everyone’s in trouble now. All hell breaks loose as Rio races to win Sela’s trust and sooth her fears about allowing a hunky wolf-shifter into her heart.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is bittersweet this year. This autumn has been great for my writing. I'm so thankful for that. The other day I finished my third novella. I'm letting them pile up, so I can go back later like a freight train and self-edit them all at once. For now, I want to keep writing and enjoy the momentum.

That's the good news.

The sad news? I miss my sister Christy. This is the first holiday without her. I cannot believe she will not be bringing her delicious mashed potatoes to Thanksgiving.

The second bit of bad news--I'm losing my stepbrother David as well. He has lung cancer and this will definitely be his last Thanksgiving with us. So, we let him choose the menu and we are making David's favorite dishes, the way he likes them. I will grate tons of cheddar cheese  onto everything. I even bought canned mushroom soup and canned french fried onions to make old-school green bean casserole because I love him, and he shuns my "organic crap."

I know many of us are missing someone they love this holiday. I want to be thankful for what I have now and remember many others have an empty spot at the table too.

Happy Thanksgiving...

It's snowing in the mountains...
And I love it!

It's not officially winter yet, but I love a snowy Thanksgiving almost as much as I adore a snowy Yuletide. Not sure why, but I love snow and the chilly, crisp air of a winter's day. I think it's because I grew up in a small town at the 6,800 foot level of the high Steptoe Mountain valley desert.  Summers were short...springs were short and sweet...and snow often fell by Halloween. We went pine-cone hunting in September...getting covered in pine pitch and smelling that heavenly scent of ripe pine cones. By Thanksgiving, we were in 6 inches of deep snow, and eagerly awaiting that big huge grand holiday when Santa would come to visit. Kids are sooo easy.

Now I live in a high mountain valley at the 4,700 foot level...the summers are longer, and the springs and falls are nice and cool...and I still love snow. The only drawback to the cold white stuff is that when the first skiff of snow hits the streets, people completely forget how to drive!

With Thanksgiving coming up soon, I always get excited about the winter holidays. I am already debating on whether or not to put up a Christmas tree this year...the cats have settled down and are mature, but they still attempt to climb up the center pole of the tree. So I have not used glass ornaments in the past four years. I simply adorn the tree with small lights and a few unbreakable cheap sparkly ornaments...which inevitably get chewed up by the dog after they are ripped from the branches by pouncing kitties. Last year, they pulled the tree over three times. Of course, nothing broke. And the usual hour's time-out in the bathroom did nothing to slow them down.

I would truly love to have the tree up the way I always did when the kids were young...filled with antique glass balls and little metal instruments like French horns and trombones. Home made ornaments the kids made in school. Glass partridges to hang in the upper branches.  Tinsel.  You don't want to hear what happened to the last glass partridge...I did find the plastic tail feathers and the glass part under the tree...but the body feathers, alas, were found in the kitty litter box a few days later.

Stupid cats couldn't tell the difference between a real bird and a fake one...

Have a marvelous Thanksgiving...

Hugs

Fran Lee

Ready, Set, Cuddle!!

Winter = Romance!!

Aw, come on now, hear me out.....

*  A snow covered landscape is breathtakingly beautiful.

*  With more hours of darkness, going to bed earlier makes sense. Who says you have to sleep??

*  Snuggling with your sweetie on the couch wrapped in an afghan makes any TV show better.

*  The oven can be on all day. A house filled with the aromas of baked goods, a roast, or any other yummy deliciousness brings out the 'warm and fuzzy' in people.

*   Lobbing a snowball at your lover is just plain fun. And when you're finished playing outside, most likely because you're frozen to the bone, warming each other up is even more fun! Layers of clothes need to be removed, lots of rubbing is required to restore circulation, spending quality hot shower time together has great merit....

Happy Winter :)
