Leena's Men 5 Star Review!

I just read Tessie Bradford’s latest Science Fiction ménage “Leena’s Men” and loved it! This fast paced spin-off to last summer’s bestseller “Megan’s Men” jumps right into the action mid scene. Two Cargo-runners from Earth, Adam and Craig, are under siege by a bullying alien attacker. Their ship is crippled and they are forced to retreat into a meteor field, leaving them in a very precarious situation. Right away Miss Bradford offers a poignant glimpse into the personal dynamics between the two men that sets the playful tone for the rest of the story.

All is not lost. A female cargo pilot answers their distress call. Leena is bored to tears by her routine life. Even though her over-protective male relatives order her to avoid taking risks, she can’t resist the impulse to be heroic and guides the compromised ship to Mesta where it crash lands.

In the first action packed pages, Leena finds herself drawn to the two men injured in the crash. Unexpectedly she experiences intense emotions toward the strangers. Her relatives and the customs of Mesta don’t make it easy for her to get close to the Earthmen. She feels compelled to figure out why she is so fascinated with these men and their wellbeing.

Leena visits Adam and Craig in the hospital, triggering a big reaction from both men. With a wrecked spaceship and nowhere else to send them, she offers to take both men home. What follows is a fun, sexy story as the guys learn the ways of Mesta. Adam and Craig already have an affectionate relationship, when they invite independent Leena into their love bond it’s a joy to read.

Leena’s Men is a great addition into the Mates of Mesta series. I loved the dry humor shared between Adam and Craig. I enjoyed the world building. The description of the planet was vivid. Everything from Leena’s home décor to the greenish sky of Mesta’s felt real. It was also fun to revisit this familiar setting through the POV of a native female.  The character development, story pacing, and heat level was perfect. If you’re craving a spicy summer ménage you can enjoy in an evening, this novella feels much bigger than it actually is. I highly recommend you pour yourself a glass of “cushingberry” wine and enjoy a play-date on Mesta. Leena’s Men will leave you satiated and happy you read it.

Megan even makes a cameo, which I loved.

I sure hope Phaedra gets a story… hint, hint.

"Pleasuring Anne" Is 5 Star Fun!

I just finished reading Tessie Bradford’s latest release “Pleasuring Anne” and I loved it!

Anne Kramer was a character easy to love and identify with. She’s an independent, suffer-no-fools romance novelist who has endured a protracted dry-spell and hasn’t had a real life playmate in several years. To add fuel to Anne’s inner fire, her AWOL muse roars back into her life bringing visions of naughty toys and scorching hot fantasies with him. After enjoying a very steamy shower, Anne’s imagination is off to the races and she’s ready to sit down and transform some of her unsatisfied lush into quality writing time when the law comes knocking on her door.

Two hunky cops show up. Detective Garth Slaiter, is the epitome tall dark and divine in a uniform and his partner Detective Mark Collins is worth chasing too. Unfortunately Anne is forced to greet them with wet hair and wearing lazy-girl cotton pants and a tee shirt. It gets worse. The police inform Anne that a man she has recently gone on a casual date with is a con artist. She’s left feeling a bit defensive as an impromptu police Q&A begins in her living room.

Detective Slaiter—Garth is quick to take charge and ask Anne for her help getting a con man off the streets. He’s smart, direct and professional. Anne’s detailed description of the con man’s lame approach on their first and only date provides the detectives with the first useful information they need to stop this creep.

Of course Anne is eager to help stop a man who is robbing women but she responds to Detective Slaiter’s tough guy alpha dog authority in all the wrong ways. Garth is a distracting turn on and the middle of a criminal investigation isn’t the best time for this sort of full-blown reaction to a man. When the topic of her alter ego is raised, it’s squirm time. The detectives ask about Anne’s line of work. As an author of fifteen erotic romance novels including a slightly kinky “Connie’s Cops”, she has plenty to blush about.

By now the living room windows are fogging up. Anne is interested in Garth and Garth is showing a lot of um… professional interest in her, and damn-they have a real problem on their hands—a con artist is on the loose robbing women and embezzling checks.  

Garth abruptly asks Anne to call the con man and ask him out on a second date as a sting. Anne agrees to do it and this is where the story really starts to roll into Lustville. We see Anne through Garth’s POV and hot dang he’s mighty impressed with her for all the right reasons the least of which is clever Anne thinks like a detective, and he loves it. It quickly becomes apparent each has met their match. The attraction to so strong that once they are alone Garth can’t resist kissing Anne and immediately has to do a little back peddling.

Pleasuring Anne is a romance for grown-ups. Both Anne and Garth are in their forties and can appreciate things like a sweet old-fashioned date to a miniature golf course or a super-heated romp in the sheets cuffed and frisked by a dominant detective ; )

Hey we’re all adults here, lets have a little fun. This story is detail rich, character driven and the dialog is a joy to read. Anne and Garth felt like real people with well-rounded lives and that speaks loudly to Ms. Bradford’s skill as an author. There’s so much packed into this beautifully written short novel, it feels like more. Most of all the reader will feel the mutual attraction and growing love Garth and Anne stumble into. It’s wonderful. If you are looking for a book that can be read in an evening and offers smart, funny, mature characters who know a good thing when they see it—you must give Pleasuring Anne a try!

I give Pleasuring Anne 5 Stars.

Tessie Bradford's "Megan's Men" Packs Four Times The Heat

Today’s treat is a mini-review of a book I just finished and absolutely loved—Tessie Bradford’s “Megan’s Men”. Yes I’m biased and Tessie and I are good friends, but I read this book with eyes wide open and enjoyed as if I’d didn’t know what a lovely person Tessie was.

I’ve enjoyed all of Tessie books but Megan’s Men is my favorite to date. Tessie has taken her writer’s voice further and created a rich Sci-fi ménage romance that features three terrific men and one really lucky woman.

Megan Lynch has had a very bad year. Her husband took off with most of their assets and a twenty year old bimbo. She lost her job and has nowhere to live. Accepting a management position at a research facility on a distant planet was supposed to be the first step to a new start. But now her transport has been cancelled indefinitely. She’s stranded, exhausted, defeated, and utterly pissed off.

Garfor, Rork and Loban came to Earth for a one day trading mission. Finding their woman alone and upset in the travel port is both a blessing and extremely upsetting. With only a few days to convince her she is destined to be theirs forever, all three men are more than willingly to rise to the challenge.

Review:

I found myself hooked from the first page by Megan’s dilemma. Megan’s in the middle of a major life change. She taken a job on another planetoid sight unseen and risked everything to leave behind a personal life that hasn’t gone so well. She immediately, and naively finds herself in a dangerous situation in a space travel port that she believes is merely an inconvenience. She gets bumped from a legitimate space liner and is reassigned to a shadowy cargo ship that carries more risk than she realizes. Megan doesn’t have enough space-faring experience to ask the right questions and seems to be walking straight into a human trafficking type of ordeal.

Just as things are really going sour she’s almost gets run down in the spaceport as well. Thank god for the quick reflexes and timely intervention of a prince-like Mr. Tall-dark-and-handsome, who steps in and saves Megan from physical harm. Garfor of the House of H’oug is a gorgeous warrior who scoops Megan into his arms and enlightens her about her true situation.

Megan is shocked to discover a respected space liner would throw a lone woman, such as herself under the bus. She’s also unsettled to be experiencing an instant attraction and feelings of lust and trust for a man who appeared out of nowhere. The moment Megan and Garfor touch a mate bond that was meant to be begins to unfold. Garfor doesn’t even try to hide it and Megan is left confused and intrigued by the strength of his presence.

It’s no surprise that Garfor won’t allow Megan to naively board a slave ship. He takes charge of Megan and her luggage and leads her aboard his luxurious space ship along with a little white lie. Megan thinks she’s getting express service to her destination, but Garfor has a few surprises in store. Megan isn’t going straight to the planetoid she has accepted a job on. She headed to Garfor’s home plant as his bonded mate and guess what else? Garfor is a Slaterine man and Slanterine men mate in quads—three committed men and one lucky woman. Megan boards Garfor’s ship and meets two other gorgeous men Rork and Loban, who are surprised and delighted Garfor has brought a life mate home for them all to share…

Now do I have your attention? This is a very hot book! For your comfort and safety do not read Megan’s Men while seated on combustible materials or near an open flame. Rork and Loban are just as interesting as Garfor and have distinct personalities and conflicts of their about concealing facts from Megan. They had my sympathy too. My god these poor guys have a lot at stake and they only have a brief window of time to convince Megan of the glory that is polyamory.  If you love romance this is a yummy romance. If like ménage this is really hot. If you love a happy ending here’s a very ending for, four deserving people. If you’ve always dreamed of having a big family… never mind I won’t spoil it for you.

Jeff:  Yeah, and my eardrums might not recover! The other night when I got home from work, I swear the windows were shaking it was so loud.  She didn’t even hear me calling to her until I was at her office door.

Randi:  You scared the crap out of me. I was deep in the creative zone.

Jeff:  Darlin’, you were dancing around the room, singing into your pen!

KL: You sing into a pen? I won’t ask. What’s your favorite type of Kiss?

Jeff: French!

Randi:  I’m pretty sure she was asking about the candy.

Jeff:  Oh, sorry.

KL: Okay, I was hoping for a sexy answer. I’ll try again. What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?

Jeff:  Deep dish pizza with double cheese and Italian sausage.

Randi:  Bravo channel reality shows.

“Did I mention I brought you presents?” he asked after hanging up their coats.

Jeff returned carrying a wrapped box. He sat down on the couch and patted the cushion next to him. He set the package in her lap when she joined him. Without preamble, Randi ripped off the paper and dropped it on the floor.

“You’re in charge of clean up on Christmas morning,” he said, chuckling.

“Deal,” she agreed, tossing the top to the ground also. The contents were hidden by shimmery pink tissue paper. Randi used more care in folding back the layers.

“Oh my God, Jeff, how gorgeous,” she exclaimed, holding up the stunningly beautiful negligee. It was lace and silk in a pale shade of rose. As she caressed the sumptuous material, she noticed there was more in the box. “A robe, too? This is incredible. Thank you so much.” Randi threw her arms around his neck and kissed him.
