Tina’s also having a CONTEST!!

Hi Tina! We’re thrilled to have you back with us today.

Blurb:

Her freedom depends on one man. A criminal to his realm…

Outlawed Realm, Book 4

One minute, Paige Ross is outside a Seattle bar, grieving a failed engagement. The next, she jerks awake in a weird, candlelit room with velvet walls, black silk sheets, and a man who motions for silence.

Paige has little choice but to trust the powerful stranger who promises a way out of what looks like Satan’s brothel. And pray his promise to keep her safe is as real as the heat burning in his eyes.
Banished from E2’s ruling elite for supposed crimes against the realm, Zekin risks everything to rescue those brought to E5 for the guards’ carnal pleasure. Paige will be leaving this inhospitable realm of fire and ice—if he can somehow forget the way her trembling body melts in his arms.

Safe—temporarily—in an underwater world populated by strange creatures, Paige’s sexual awakening explodes into an unquenchable need that consumes them both. But the guards will be looking for her. And Zekin’s plan to send her home is a dangerous journey she cannot—will not—take without him.

Warning: Scorching-hot sex and loads of aching tenderness between a drool-worthy hunk who’s determined to do the right thing and a woman who’s not about to give him up.

Excerpt:

Thick gray clouds rolled above them, heavy with more snow. A sliver of bluish-white light poured through a gap in the cloud cover, as though the moon were trying to bleed through. Its rays swept across the land, which shimmered in the frail glow, sparkling like thousands of diamonds. The effect lasted only a moment, and then the light receded, with shadows once again taking over the hostile terrain.
As though that worried him, Zekin increased his already fast pace, pausing only once to shove her clothing into a snowdrift, burying it.
Why?
Paige wasn’t able to ask. She struggled to keep up, gulping air. It should have been icy, hurting her throat, but wasn’t. The transparent mask no doubt heated it. How was that possible? Desperate for answers, she cried out, “Where are we going?”
Zekin looked over. “A colony where you’ll be safe.”
Paige dug her fingers into his hand. “Where are we? What is this place?”
“E5.”
What in the hell was that? A government installation where scientists conducted classified studies and had pleasure slaves on the side? That made absolutely no—
Wait a sec. Suddenly, Paige recalled Zekin mentioning E1 when he’d first come into her room.
“I’ll do all I can to bring you back to E1,” he’d promised her then.
Instinctively, she held back. Just as quickly, Zekin yanked her forward.
“Don’t fight me,” he warned, “or you’ll end up like the others you saw outside the guards’ outpost.”
Paige shivered so badly, her voice shook. “Did those bastards throw the bodies out there after they murdered those people?”
“Only some. The others they pushed out there to die.”
Why?
“They weren’t useful any longer.” Again, he glanced over. “When one of the guards found you and brought you here, they got rid of the other woman. That’s what they do when they tire of females from your realm, or the pleasure slaves they haven’t already killed.”
Paige was about to pepper him with more questions. Instead, her mind snagged on one word—realm.
“You mean country?” Maybe she’d been wrong about his nationality. It wasn’t Greek or Middle-Eastern but Russian. Could be this was Siberia. In a weird sort of way, that made sense. “Is that what you meant—my country? The USA? America?”
He regarded the landscape past her. “We have to hurry before the other guards return and see us.”
Paige couldn’t imagine how that was possible. The material covering them was the same tint as their surroundings, making them virtually invisible…unless the guards had some kind of special eyewear, like night-vision goggles, that allowed them to see what the naked eye couldn’t. “How far is the colony?”
“Past that body of water.” He gestured toward what appeared to be an enormous frozen lake ringed by drifts.
As Paige scanned the area beyond it, searching for some sort of building, a flock of birds flew over the lake. At least she thought they were birds. Their thick feathers were an ashy white, their wingspans enormous, like nothing she’d ever seen.
They flew in an odd formation, not the usual V pattern, but in a perfect circle. Paige couldn’t help but stare at the phenomenon. How in the world did they do—
A thunderous crackling sound interrupted her thoughts, and the again screeching wind.
She flinched. Zekin released her hand and moved in front, his body pushing hers back, shielding Paige as something shattered the ice from beneath the center of the lake. Within seconds, a creature pushed through, hurling its milky body upward. The waves that followed it froze instantly in the raw air, the ends of the water curled over like a fine crystal sculpture. As massive as a blue whale, the creature surged from the lake, a horn protruding from its snout, no doubt what pierced the ice. With blinding speed, it penetrated the circle made by the birdlike creatures.
Shrieking wildly, they scattered, but it did no good. The whale-like thing swung its monstrous head back and forth, gulping several of the creatures before gravity pulled it back down to the water. A thin sheet of ice formed instantly, hiding its exit. Harsh winds toppled the frozen waves as easily as if they’d been a house of cards, then pushed them against the snowdrifts, returning the scene to the relative calm of a few minutes before as though none of the carnage had occurred.
Paige continued to hyperventilate. What kind of fucking nightmare had she stumbled into? Was it possible she’d been drugged and was hallucinating? If not… Aw crap, she didn’t want to think about that.
“There’s nothing to fear,” Zekin assured. “The thing has had its fill for the moment. It won’t harm—”
Her embrace stopped him. She clung to Zekin, her face pressed against his back, praying he wouldn’t push her away. “Don’t leave me, please,” she begged.
Her fiancĂ©, Johnny, had done that, calling off their wedding after she’d worked so hard on the plans and getting him to want her. He never apologized. He’d just told her the score, saying they could still live together. As if she’d want that. Before he’d bugged out on her, her mother and then eventually her father had also left. She’d had no one for too long and by God, right now, Paige needed the warmth of Zekin’s body, the security and comfort of his size to preserve her sanity. To give her hope that they’d both get through this.
“Please,” she repeated.
“I won’t,” he murmured. “It’s all right.” With his hands on her wrists, Zekin gently pulled her arms from him but didn’t step away.
If he had, Paige would have followed. Out here, she had no shame, no pride, just an unbearable need to be close.
He turned to face her, then hesitated only a moment before wrapping his arms around her in a sheltering caress. She couldn’t stop shaking. As he ran his hand down her back, he whispered, “You’re safe.”
No, she wasn’t. Neither was he. Not out here in arctic-land. Deep inside, Paige was terrified they weren’t on Earth any longer. It was crazy to even consider that, but how else to explain all of this? How could either of them survive? Why had he even risked his life to rescue her? Who was he? Where had he come from?
She pressed her cheek against his shoulder. The transparent material covering her face was exactly like skin, letting her feel his solid frame, his heat. She snuggled, unable to stop herself, indulging in this small, welcome intimacy as the world went crazy around them.
The wind died for a moment, then picked up again, slamming against her body as it screamed past. Clouds continued to sink, weighted with snow.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.
His hand stalled on her back. “For what?”
Being scared and being a burden, asking too many questions, not knowing how to make this better. All her life, Paige had done whatever she could so people wouldn’t leave her. Didn’t work. They always had.
“Getting you into this,” she finally said.
If she hadn’t had those stupid drinks at Rozie’s, if she hadn’t gotten involved with Johnny—a damn fool who couldn’t commit to marriage much less save her ass out here—none of this would have happened.
“You had nothing to do with this,” Zekin said. “It was my choice to come.”

Daylight Savings is soon upon us!

Smile if you love it...
(or not...)

I don't mind it so much now the I don't have to wake up for work anymore.  But I used to hate it.  Since my normal bedtime seems to be anytime between 3:00 am to 10:00 am, depending on what game I'm playing or what movie marathon I'm watching, I just get up when I've had my quota of  sleep.  Yawn.

I think this is the earliest I've been up in months. Preparing my mind and body for DST.

Heck...I'm going back to bed...

Hugs!

Tina Donahue Is Here!

Stolen Desire releases on March 11th!!

Tina Donahue is here to tell us a bit about the Outlawed Realm Series and to share the blurb and an excerpt of Stolen Desire.
Oh, did I mention she's having a CONTEST??
More about that later.

Hi Tina! We can't wait to hear about this series!

Welcome to worlds within worlds.

When I first conceived of my Outlawed Realm series, I had the idea of Earth having more than the dimension we know. In fact, I gave it five dimensions, all of them populated. However, because of time differentials, the various inhabitants don’t see what goes on in the other realms.

That is, if they’re behaving themselves.

As the series begins, my hero is definitely breaking the rules, and sets into motion a series of events that cause inhabitants from one dimension to go into the others. All with exciting and very romantic results.

In Unending Desire, book one of the series, the hero comes from E2, a place where everything is controlled, emotion isn’t allowed, all the men look the same. All the women are identical in appearance. He comes to Seattle (E1) to rescue the heroine from certain death. Imagine his shock in seeing our messy, vibrant world after being so restricted in his own. In book two, Illicit Desire, I wrote about E4, a world of twilight and jungles. E2’s rulers have built a palace there where they enjoy pleasure slaves. These slaves aren’t born, they’re grown in artificial wombs to begin a lifetime of servitude to their masters. Shameless Desire, book three, again takes place in Seattle. One of the shifters from E4’s jungle has crossed over. Like the hero in Unending Desire, he needs to warn the heroine of danger.

Stolen Desire, book four (March 11; available for preorder), takes place on E5, a dimension of ice and fire. Paige, my heroine, awakes to find herself in a world she can’t comprehend, faced with a man she doesn’t know but has to trust. Her life and freedom, their future depends upon it.

While I was writing Stolen Desire, I kept thinking of Avatar, the sense of wonder I had as the story unfolded. That’s what I strove for in my tale. To create a world so unique, thrilling, dangerous, and in many ways beautiful, that a reader couldn’t help but be enthralled.

There’s also a moving love story, and yes—lots of hot sex. J

Here’s a blurb and an excerpt from Stolen Desire

Warning: Scorching-hot sex and loads of aching tenderness between a drool-worthy hunk who’s determined to do the right thing and a woman who’s not about to give him up.

Excerpt:

“Don’t make any noise,” he whispered, “or the others will come.”
Others? There was more than one maniac to worry about? What about him? His thick accent sounded Greek or Middle-Eastern. Even if he did look really good, Paige didn’t know him.
“Who are—”
“Who I am doesn’t matter.”
The hell it didn’t. “Why are you here?”
“Do you want to go home?” he asked.
“Are you kidding? Of course, I do.” Big freaking time.
“Then you’ll have to trust me.” He offered her his hand.
For the first few seconds, she couldn’t move. And then she realized she could either go with him or stay here and wait for the unknown maniac. They couldn’t be one in the same.
Paige forced herself to take his hand. His palm felt dry, nicely warm. Gently, he curled his fingers around hers. Hardly the touch of a lunatic.
“I’ll do all I can to bring you back to E1,” he said.
“What? Where?”
He didn’t answer. After pulling open the door, he led her into a candlelit hall.
At a tapping sound to the side of them, Paige stiffened. Footfalls? The others? They were coming? Following? She turned, ready to scream, bolt, do both, but only let out her held breath.
The hall was empty. A good thing, given the utter weirdness of this place. The ceiling was low and claustrophobic, the walls and floors constructed of the same stone as the room she’d been in. As though this was an ancient monastery…or possibly Seattle Underground, a subterranean tourist attraction only a few miles from Rozie’s.
Was that where she was?
Her guess evaporated at the wall ahead. Shackles and whips hung from hooks, ready for a Dom to use on a submissive in a twisted BDSM fantasy.
Oh holy shit. Was she in a brothel? Was she even in Seattle any longer?
Paige’s throat tightened on a cry she didn’t dare let out, not knowing who the noise might bring. She shivered, wanting to run. Didn’t matter where. She just needed to take off and keep going until she couldn’t anymore. And then what? Paige didn’t know, a deeper, primal terror making her thoughts and movements sluggish. Haltingly, she took another step as though she’d just learned to walk.
The man squeezed her fingers as though he needed her to move more quickly.
Paige couldn’t.
He glanced over at her.
Candlelight deepened the richness of his complexion and shadow of beard. Several strands of his hair had fallen forward to skim his forehead, complementing his masculine features. Handsome didn’t begin to describe his male allure, his raw sensuality. Again, she noted his camouflage gear. The kind military people wear during rescues.
If that was what this was.
“Please don’t hurt me,” she blurted.
He regarded her quivering mouth, the tears filling her eyes. When she yanked her hand from his, he didn’t try to stop her. He murmured, “Hurt you?”
He leaned closer. Paige forced herself not to edge back, uncertain what he’d do. His clothing smelled crisp and clean, the scent of air on a wintry day.
“Never,” he whispered.
In spite of his unnatural composure—given the weird situation they were in—he was obviously frustrated that she wasn’t following him blindly. Indignation crossed his face. It was in the way he glanced at her hand but didn’t take it, as though he wanted her permission. What rapist or lunatic did that?
“If you don’t come with me,” he warned, “the guards will hurt you.”
Guards? This was a prison? Where? Mexico? Afghanistan? Iraq? None of this made sense. How could she have been taken so far away? The candles’ flames flickered. Threads of dirt trickled from shallow fissures in the ceiling, making this place even mustier. The dust tickled her nose and the back of her throat.
She swallowed repeatedly to suppress her cough, her body tense with the effort.
“You have to trust me,” he repeated.
Her legs grew watery with doubt and apprehension. Her head felt as if it might explode with her headache’s punishing pain. Steeling herself, Paige slipped her hand back into his. Although she was about to fall apart, he didn’t appear upset in the least. That had to mean he was a member of some elite military unit. Right?
Not having the courage to ask, she followed him, her naked feet slapping the stone floor.
Of all the things to be missing, why her shoes and pantyhose? Wait. Her watch and engagement ring were also gone. Stolen by whom? A sexual sadist who liked jewelry…or took them as a trophy?
The thought made her want to gag.
They’d reached the far wall and the stuff hanging on it. Numerous pairs of shackles glinted in the gauzy candlelight. Next to them were metal collars, each sporting long, menacing chains.
Paige averted her gaze from the sex toys and spotted a large room a few yards ahead, its double doors opened. Candlelight flickered inside. From where she was, she saw movement, what appeared to be people. Startled, she stopped.
The man pulled her forward. Maybe coming upon someone at this point didn’t make a bit of difference because they were already unbelievably screwed.
Paige still tried to hold back, but he was stronger. “What are you doing?” she whispered, fighting him. “Don’t you see those people up ahead?”
“They’re not real,” he said.

Tall, Dark and Alpha, Afton Locke Will Rock Your Boat!

My guest today is the amazing Afton Locke. She's part of the Tall Dark and Alpha anthology. I think this one looks like a real winner. Want a glimpse of Afton's hunky, paranormal hero? You can Sea more of him here:

Tall, Dark & Alpha: An Alpha is a Take-Charge Leader

Thank you for hosting us today. We’re excited to talk about the alpha trait take-charge leader and our stories for the boxed set Tall, Dark & Alpha as we try to figure out: what IS alpha?

An Alpha is a Take-Charge Leader

When everyone is standing around, wondering what to do or freaking out from a crisis, the alpha hero takes charge and leads everyone to a better place. The heroine might go along for the ride or give him a run for his money. Here’s a glimpse of how the hot heroes in our boxed set take matters into their own hands.

Silver Tongued Devils by Dawn Montgomery, a sci-fi romance, has two alpha heroes. Na’varr was born a prince. When his uncle murdered his family, Na’varr swore vengeance. He fought to survive, using only his wits. As Captain of the mercenary ship, Crimson Star, he protects his people, and will not let his uncle’s greed destroy any more lives. Brom Raine is a hybrid, a man ruled by both human and feline DNA. He’s Na’varr’s right-hand man and the one who moves in the shadows. He will do what needs to be done to safeguard both the Captain and the woman they’ve sworn to protect. (She was always one step from hell until she found redemption in their arms.)

The alpha hero in Crazy by Eve Langlais, a paranormal romance, is a vampire. Zane knows what he wants and lets nothing stand in his way. He’s also not afraid to fight. (Ella hears voices and they don’t like anyone.)

In Sex With an Ex by Eve Vaughn, a contemporary romance, the alpha hero is a lawyer. By working hard, Ethan Boudreaux became a partner in his law firm very quickly. He’s a natural-born leader and in control of his element. (When two divorcees reunite in the bedroom, the sex is hotter than ever, but can their hearts survive the second time around?)

The alpha hero for In Her Wildest Dreams by Farrah Rochon is a CEO chocolatier. When Erica starts to doubt her abilities, Gavin steps in and takes charge, convincing her that she has what it takes to get the job done. (When the woman of his dreams asks him to create a Valentine’s Day fantasy, Gavin plans to show her just how sweet their reality could be.)

In Two Cops, a Girl and a Pair of Handcuffs by Paige Tyler, a contemporary romance, the heroes, Reed and Hayes, are both cops, so by their very nature they’re good at taking charge, especially in the bedroom. (Working the late shift just got a whole lot more fun!)

The alpha hero in Chase and Seduction: Hot Country Series, Book 1 by Randi Alexander, a contemporary romance, is a musician. Chase Tanner is a man driven to advance his career as a country music star. He writes his own songs, he releases albums, tours the world, and is acting in his first movie. What he doesn’t count on is meeting screenwriter Reno Linden. She’s the one he’s been looking for, and life won’t ever be the same—for either of them. (Come backstage and get your hands on country superstar Chase Tanner!)

In Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever, a paranormal romance, the alpha hero is a bounty hunter. Audie’s a natural leader. As a powerful member of the Sorceri Bounty Hunters, he’s used to charging into any situation and controlling it. (A grand passion in an apocalyptic world. A love beyond reason and without boundaries.)

The alpha hero in Rock My Boat by Afton Locke, a paranormal romance, is a shape shifter. Simon takes it upon himself to get justice for his brethren (other aquatic shifters) who have been wronged by corporate greed.
story snippet:
“I was on Poseidon’s Price,” Simon declared. “I heard the screams and saw the fear. The children, parents, and widows of those men are still paying for that day.”
(Once addicted to the sea, you can’t escape its pleasures.)

Featured Story - Silver Tongued Devils by Dawn Montgomery

Blurb
Ship thief and notorious escape artist, Raesa Daw was the best in the business until a routine DNA test proves that she’s the last Earthen pureblood in existence. Desperate to escape sexual slavery and breeding for a royal house, she flees the station on the Crimson Star, landing in the arms of a deadly half-breed, Brom Raine.

One kiss burns away her fear, but opens a world more dangerous than she’d ever known.

Captain Anderson Na’varr of the Mercenary frigate Crimson Star shows no mercy to those who stow away on his vessel. He will take the thief and show her exactly how erotically ruthless he and his Executive Officer, Brom, can be.

Seduced by the dark lust and hidden strength of both men, she vows to do everything in her power to corrupt her DNA before the slavers find her.

Na’varr realizes Raesa holds the key to survival, and losing her to the Republic would destroy the fragile peace he and Brom had found in her arms. Her courage would lead them out of the depths of hell but only their love could keep her alive.

Excerpt
“So you’re the reason our ship has been land-locked.” His smile widened and she noticed the distinct gleam of fangs.

Raesa jerked her body to a position which made breathing much easier. The hybrid was built like a cyborg war machine, all bulk and heavy as hell.

“It’s an illegal search. You can stun them, drop them outside the ship, and then get the hell out of here.”

“Run from Imperials? Who do you think we are?”

She realized the sound of fighting grew louder. They were running out of time. “You’re Brom Raine. Second in command to Anderson Na’varr of the Crimson Star.”

“You forgot hybrid.” The statement ended with a feline growl and he nuzzled her throat. “I’m part animal.” His teeth nipped lightly at her skin.

Raesa’s pulse leapt, and not from fear. “What are you doing?”

“Deciding if I’m going to keep you.”

Other parts of her body were definitely up to that challenge. “I’m housebroken.” She didn’t stop the smirk from twitching her lips.

“Can you cook as well?” His tongue swiped at her pulse point. It was rough and delicious against her too-hot skin.

“No, but I can hack my way off this planet and into free space. Word has it you’re in need of a reputable information specialist.”

Brom pushed himself up on his forearms and stared down at Raesa. The golden gleam of his eyes narrowed to slits while he considered her offer.

“No one can be that good.”

She grinned. “I’m the best, baby. That’s why I’m here.”

A loud rumble erupted from his chest. Was he purring or growling? Her eyes widened and the reverberation filtered through his clothes to the scrap of cloth she wore. His teeth pressed against her throat for a split second and she stopped breathing.

Was he going to bite her?

Before he pulled away, he licked her. “Did you plan on getting caught by me, kitten?”

Raesa’s cheeks burned hot. “Not exactly.”

“Ending up under me wasn’t on your agenda?” He gently nudged her thighs further apart.

Raesa put her palm against his chest. She needed to get away. “You were ridiculously fast.”

“So were you. It’s been a long time since I was taken by surprise. Maybe I should keep you, after all.” He took her hand and pressed it down above her head.

This wasn’t what she’d planned at all.

The Sensational Six ladies who put on Wild Wicked Weekend (http://wildwickedweekend.com) Feb. 19-22 are taking a big BREATHER!
Well, really, if you saw our emails to each other in the past few days and if you've been to FB lately, we are not taking too much time off from planning for next year. We are EVERYWHERE!
     No lie.
Tickled that we are, Desiree Holt, Regina Carlysle, Brenna Zinn, Samantha Cayto, Dalton Diaz and I are—to put it bluntly—tuckered.
This year we grew by more than 33% in our registration numbers. Next year, to keep it intimate and fun, we'll cap it at 150. Yes, CAP the registration. Could our hotel, The Menger handle more? Sure. But we six want to be certain that we can deliver what we have done for the past 2 years: a fun, intimate, comfortable, easy, low cost vacation with authors whom you love!
Really, we figure that is about what we can manage well and deliver a fun party for every reader and fan!
For those of you who did not go, what did we provide?
Well, according to our guests, we gave them FAB meals, courtesy of The Menger catering. We had fajitas and guacamole that you could just slather on your skin. We had desserts your grandmother would have devoured.  We had pasta that melted in your mouth. Salads and soups! Wow. And we didn't have to wash any of the dishes! Such relaxation!
But what really melted in our mouths were our wonderful, fun-loving hosts, Cole, Taylor and Antonio. Yes, you must go to our FB page : #wildwickedweekend and take a look at some of the pix! Great guys and what terrific sports to play Sex Position Gumby (our faces HURT from laughing for 3 hours!) and give out all those baskets and baskets of prizes!
Did you hear that we had a to-die-for Drag Queen Competition? Oh, they were superb. And the MC was a hoot. Will we have them next year?
Oh, you must stay tuned to learn!
One of our guests said she need a week to recover. Darn. I may need more. I even had blisters on the balls of my feet, I stood up and partied so much! Garrr.
What do you need to know for next year?

That the Sensational Six are going to deliver another wonderful, (educational???), fun, comfortable, intimate atmosphere at The Menger in February. Hey, even the weather cooperates with us and gave us 70 degrees and walkable joy.
Come on down and see us next year! We're at The Menger again Feb 19-22.
Big Thanks to our terrific sponsors! Here is the back page of the Schedule!

Better late than never? Uh, huh...

An oldie but goodie...

I wrote this book in 2009 and it was published under the title A Brief Moment of Pleasure. It was a full length novel, but it didn't do so well with the publisher I submitted it to, despite the rave reviews it got. I think it had to do with the price. Seems like e-books that cost $7.00 are left in the dust, unless they come from Laurann Dohner. LOL! Alas, the publisher wasn't as well known back then as Ellora's Cave is, and sales were sadly non-existent. I asked for my rights back at the end of the contract period, and revised it, then subbed it to Ellora's Cave.

With a brand new cover and the revisions, it was re-released, and did considerably better than before, but in spite of more rave reviews, it will never hit the best seller lists. Sigh. However, I'm not giving up on it. You see, it's semi-autobiographical, and I still think it's one of the best I've ever produced.

So I am going to start doing promo on it again, and hope that word of mouth will get it going again. What d you think?

Have you read this book under either title? What did you think? Be totally honest. I can take it. :P  Just remember that I hold a second degree black belt and am willing to travel... Snort!

Hugs...
