Many of my author friends have read this series so this is for you readers.
Leave me a comment here - I'd love to hear about your very favorite work of science fiction...or on the other hand, are you a newbie?
Let me know and you can win a copy of each book for your holiday reading pleasure!
Much love, Julia
Beautiful covers, Julia - and the stories sound wonderful. Hope you have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteFavorite? Yikes! Probably Long, Dark Teatime of the Soul by Douglas Adams.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tina!
ReplyDeleteHey Cindy - I have to read that book!
I haven't ready much Sci-Fi, but I'm no opposed to a good story. Your covers are great and I love the story premise.
ReplyDeleteMy very first foray into science fiction was the Dune series by Frank Herbert. Read them all back to back years ago, and was totally fascinated and hooked.
ReplyDeleteI love these covers and I can't wait to read these when I get some spare time. Hopefully after the holidays! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved Issac Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy" in my early teens and later I caught up with Robert Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land" and had the epiphany that a writer could write about society, religion, personal dreams and desires, and even preach -as long as it was cloaked in something outrageous and outwardly dismissible. It was a very clever ploy.
ReplyDeleteXXOO Kat
Thanks, Rachel - sci fi gets addicting.
ReplyDeleteCathy - in my mind, Dune is the bright, shining star, although the sequels couldn't measure up to the original.
Hey, Amber - I cannot imagine how you make the time for everything you do!
Kat - me too! Stranger in a Strange Land was life-altering. Yes, you can tackle a lot of pertinent issues under the guise of sci fi.
I gravitated away from straight science fiction when I discovered romance back in my teens (aeons ago), but Linnea Sinclair writes a mean sci-fi romance. :-)
ReplyDeleteRosalie - I've heard great things about Linnea's books. I'm scared to read them! I will get around to it.
ReplyDeleteFor science fiction romance, besides my own books I am a fan of Linnea Sinclair and Susan Grant. For straight sci fi, I love Lois Bujold's Vorgosigan series and Catherine Asaro's Skolian Empire series. Also like anything Elizabeth Moon writes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions, Nancy! And thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI'll announce the winner when Fran Lee gets around to bumping my post sometime today or tomorrow!

I love science fiction. I used to read Arthur C Clark, Isaac Asimov and all the classics. Now I love science fiction romance and am a big fan of Angela Verdenius. She has two great science fiction/futuristic series.

I read far more fantasy than scifi, but I need to remedy that! Favorites off the top of my head:
ReplyDeleteENDER'S GAME by Orson Scott Card
JOVAH'S ANGEL by Sharon Shinn
THE SHIP WHO SEARCHED by Anne McCaffrey and Mercedes Lackey
Jennifer - I've enjoyed that series by Johanna Lindsay.
ReplyDeleteValerie - I love the classic sci fi too and now I'm a big fan of SFR!
Alethea - Ender's Game is my daughters favorite, and I adore Anne McCaffrey - adore her!
The winner...pulled from a San Francisco Giants baseball cap by my hubby....
