Saturday came and went last week and I totally missed it...

Talk about brain dead...

I have been writing and shopping and writing some more and shopping some more. It's been a frenzied month, but I love the holidays, so I tolerate it. LOL!

I normally blog every Saturday on my two shared blogs, and totally spaced both until Sunday afternoon.

Blech!

Ah, well...the majority of my Christmas shopping is finished, and I am ready to put up my state of the art fake tree tomorrow...as soon as I find a spot for it that isn't filled with something else.

Having my son and his family living with me the past several months has certainly stretched us for storage space, and there are plastic storage bins stacked where the Christmas Tree normally goes. But we'll find another place for those boxes...the garage maybe? Or one of our several storage facilities.

Anyway, the tree will go up if I have to stick it on the roof. And my tree normally stays up until Easter. Too damn lazy to take it down? Nope. I love Christmas! Christmas is like a year-round thingy for me. I hum Christmas carols through July, and wait like a kid for the first snow to fall each year. Halloween? A couple of months until Christmas. Thanksgiving? Yay! Christmas is just around the corner! Valentimes Day? Bummer...a whole ten more months! Sheesh!

So enjoy your holidays, because I sure do!

Love, Fran

  1. The DH would keep our tree up til Easter if I allowed him. lol

Space is now an issue in our house too with both grown kids and the grandbaby back home.
    Good luck finding space! :)

  2. That's exactly what's supposed to happen this season-we're supposed to get swept up in it and enjoy the season and enjoy the loved ones in our lives!
    Happy Holidays!

  4. Now that my daughter is home, our Christmas tree went up last night. Sarah was feeling ambitious, so she brought out every box of ornaments (and that's a LOT of boxes)! My parents used to put up five real trees and had enough decorations to do probably fifteen different themes and color schemes. We have a bunch of their stuff now, along with our own. We spent the evening laughing and crying, remembering holidays past, telling stories and simply enjoying being together. The season is truly magical.

  5. I love Christmas, too, but we have yet to erect our tree. Like Amber, space is a problem with 6 people and 7 animals at home. We have a few decorations up, just not that. When we all get over the bug that's got us down, we'll have to get that tree up.

  8. Heck, Julia, I missed me last Saturday, too! LOL! I was MIA and totally oblivious. Damn! I wish I could say that it was the booze, but I don't drink. *sigh*

  9. Tessie, the more the merrier! Despite the tight squeeze, it is wonderful to share a home with so many great people!

  10. Ashley, the hardest ones are the animal! LOL! I have had cats that climberd my trees. I have had dogs who loved to try and eat the plastic branches. I had a gerbil what got into one and wouldn't let himself be rescued. He was having a blast! He would knock ornaments off and tug the tinsel down. At least the kids can be controlled...sorta!
